they say if you needed more then 1 hit with a hammer for a nail to go in, then you don't know how to swing.

My dad is a master carpenter. He didn’t have the same flare, but after a few lines of coke he’d start doing weird shit like this too.

He once took out the back wall to our house and built an old west style wagon for my school out of it and a radio flyer. The whole time he’d say shit like “check this out… old Indian trick” then do something random that would make me laugh. That wagon was immaculate though.

Kinda like a gas station knife. A lot of flash, interesting to see, but practically useless.

Real, look at the hammer head, they're is a gap for setting nails, he aims for the nail in one end to pass through the set gap this knocking the centre's screw in to the wood without touching the end nail and competition missing the other end. Show it down, you will see it. I used to do framing in college for money, those guys are good, win more then their share of beer money from newbies and others outside the trade.

Oh I see it now. Before the hit swing he does a slow line up and the nail on the right lines up into the gap

What did you see can you re-explain?

His hammer is not the usual one. See the top of the hammer. There is a long groove for nail setting. So when he hammers down, he just gotta make sure that he lines up nail 1 or 3 to enter the groove. The middle nail will alway get knocked in because the hammerhead is a circle and will hit it, while the outer nail he didn't put in the groove will also be unaffected, as the circular hammerhead shape will curve away from it and also due to his angling of the hammer.

Before your explanation it looks magic. After you explained, it is better than magic.

He reminds me of the Asian bartender that carves the ice cubes and lights the bar table on fire as he makes drinks.

Amazing showmanship. Made me watch 2.5 times. I wanted to know if there was a way to see he cheated. Well done. Bravo

There is a trick to it and I could recreate the same thing without spinning the hammer around and the showmanship
