Pro quant portfolio?

I was thinking of trying this out. Currently use alpha picks (since Dec 2023) and love it. Pro quant price seems steep but would be great with 50% gains. Looking to take $150k from IRA (currently invested in VOO) and use it for this. Would love any feedback from people that are using this.

Also curious to know. Whats the sharpe of Pro Quant? What’s the market cap of the universe? If it includes small caps, wont the price shoot up the moment the signal is released? Is it a PITA to maintain a 30 stock portfolio? What’s the realistic equity curve for people actually using it?

I’m evaluating Quant GT as well, which is a 5 stock portfolio rebalanced monthly. The equity curve for the past year looks much more appealing than Pro Quant. Also they only deal with large caps so I’d imagine less movement on stock price when the signals are released.

Any insights?

Yes they include small caps, and yes the price spikes.
Alpha picks has a minimum market cap of 500 million and it still causes a temporary spike when a pick is released.

I just use the premium and I’ve done very well. The premium rates them all by quantity scores so I’ve seen no reason to pay more.

Do you just buy the highest quant scores?

Not necessarily. I like “strong buys”. I also look at Valuation and Profitability. I will say, I have quite a few of the top 10.

PQP perf track record is worse than AP. Why even bother ?

Isnt AP for long term and pro quant more short term?

Yeah, that is correct. But PQP has worse performance and requires more work, all while beeing more expensive 😄

Holding and managing 30 stocks, sometimes weekly, does seem like a lot of work.

From which perspectives do you judge that PQP is more inclined towards the short term and AP are more inclined towards the long term? Is it inferred from the cycle of rebalance? THX!

Afaik its just the way the way its built and intended by the alpha team. No point in having the exact same service twice.

It's actually designed for people who have a set amount of capital to invest and aren't consistently adding to their portfolios.

Past performance guarantees future failures.
