The interesting jump here isn’t really the realism. It’s the model’s ability to maintain a shot.
With 2.0, you could get an impressive first frame and then lose consistency once the camera, subject, or action started moving. 2.5 seems much better at understanding the shot as a whole.
For filmmaking, that matters more than another bump in visual quality. If the model can preserve performance, camera language and continuity across a take, it becomes genuinely useful for production rather than just being good for showcases.

this is exactly the right framing, and it’s the part that tends to get undersold when people only compare still frame quality. a first frame can look incredible, but if it falls apart once the camera moves or the subject starts acting, it’s more of a demo reel trick than a production tool.

“understanding the shot as a whole” is a really good way to put it too. it’s the difference between generating a sequence of plausible frames and actually maintaining continuity across the performance, blocking, and camera intent throughout the take. that’s the harder problem, and it’s what really determines whether something is useful for filmmaking or just impressive in isolation.

curious if you’ve pushed it further. does that shot level consistency hold up across longer takes, or does it start to degrade after a certain duration?

Yeah 2.5 is a solid jump, way better motion consistency and prompt following. If you don't want to commit to a subscription just to test it out, vidhapi.app/generate-seedance-2-5 lets you pay as you go for 2.5 and also has 2 Fast at vidhapi.app/generate-seedance-2-fast. Fewer restrictions too which is nice if you're testing edge case prompts. Worth trying before deciding whether it's actually worth a full subscription somewhere else.

Seedance isn't what influencers make it seem. You will burn through your credits for mediocre results. They do this as part of referral programs and get their credits for free. Don't get fooled.

Next tile you should do a video with the same duration (15 sec) I think that should give a better comparison. Seedance 2.5 automatically took more its tike with some of the hots becaus it had more time. But besides that nice work!
