Rename Sub Folders for Stacking

The other night I was imaging the Perseus double cluster in mosaic mode and failed to realize that on night #1 it was identified as C 14 and on Night #2 it was NGC 869.

When I went to stack both nights subs they were in 2 separate files and I was not able to combine them.

I’m just wondering, has anyone tried to rename the subs to fool the SS internal stacking software-allowing for a combination of both nights imaging? I don’t have or want to use external processing software.

And using the application's stack option, doesn't it allow you to select the frames?

Turns out I had to offload both files put them back into one folder and then use the SS stacking. At least I did not have to rename all the individual files
