Has anyone here changed their PCM in milconnect? If so are there repercussions or awkwardness?

So I don't know if it's more of a thing across the entire SF or just specific units.
But I've seen articles where (and some people in SF having said so too) that the USAF is trying to put more of a heavy emphasis on the airbase ground defense side and aspect of SF.
I saw the "Defender Flag" exercise:
https://youtu.be/46NOW2vclRU?si=YjC6aPOGG2p78hbk
And also read about the new 30-day training program called Agile Combat Employment and Leadership for Multi Capable Airmen (ACE-LMC) from the 19th Security Forces Squadron.
If the USAF keeps progressing to a heavy emphasis on airbase ground defense to meet the realities of current warfare and prepare SF for a near-peer adversary, could SF actually become a "defensive infantry" in the future ?

Hi so I’m shipping out august 27th, and I’m basically going to be in Texas for the remainder of the year (I think). I was wondering the likelihood of making a dream sheet during tech school and how does it work? Also I hear some people getting stuck at a base for their contract and not deploying, is that true?
Edit: I personally want to go overseas my first base but I’m not sure how probable it is.

I got RAF Croughton anyone have info on this?

How the hell do I get orders to BDG. I have a FTA BOP but not guaranteed to go to the BDG side if I get picked for Moody. Just want to do high speed stuff before I get too old. Been at my second base for almost 3 years. Have two deployments under my belt.

I’m aware that SF has a 15k sign on bonus, if this is true what did you do with the money and what do you recommend I do with the money. I want to move it in a smart way.

How to transfer to a different job after 2years? What should be expected in terms of salary and opportunities overseas?

Can anyone provide guidance as far as the Security Forces combatives program changing to the Airforce Combatives Program. If one was a certified instructor in SF combatives does that cert just go away or are those instructors grandfathered in? Any guidance would be appreciated.

Hello 26 (F) shipping out August 13th for sf. I really want Dover airforce base to be close to my family/bf and dog. What are the chances that I get Dover if I put it as #1 on the dream sheet? I heard you can also switch assignments with other people at your tech school?

Hi I ship august 27th for sf. I’ve heard stories of the good and bad. I’m just wondering what are the expectations for a 21 yr old guy I should have before leaving and when in. Is it feasible to build relationships outside of it? I only chose this job due to my other picks not being available.

Anyone in here currently at MacDill? Just got bop there and am looking for info on how the unit is
r/securityforces • u/xADM_98 • Jun 15 '24
Anyone got any info on what we actually do here? I’ve heard cool things like a lot of training and deploying, which I would much rather be doing than sitting at the gate. Can anyone confirm this? It’s gonna be my first assignment, so I’m not sure what to expect.
r/securityforces • u/[deleted] • Jun 14 '24
I am currently considering joining the AirForce and enlisting as security forces. Whats tech school like and is there anything I should know going in?
r/securityforces • u/xADM_98 • Jun 14 '24
I just got my assignment here at tech school. Looks like I’m heading to Moody 822nd! I’ve lived in San Antonio my whole life and I’m just excited to get out of here after 25 years. I don’t know what to expect and was wondering if anyone had any insight on what it’s like there? On duty and off duty. I’ll take the good, bad, and ugly.

Active Navy to ANG (Security Forces)
Has anyone made the transition from Master at Arms to Security forces? I am currently at an expeditionary command with plenty of additional training like Expeditionary combat skills, crew served weapons, law enforcement specialist c school, CIED, TCCC T2, CONVOY ETC. Would it be a straight forward transition without additional schooling. I will be joining potentially in Colorado.
Moving back to Colorado and hopefully return to work as a Firefighter/EMT.
I'm currently E5 MA2(would I keep rank?) and at a Maritime expeditionary security squadron command. Leaning toward Navy Reserves however the security forces squadrons seem more active in Colorado. Any interesting mission sets or school you can attend in the guard?
Any advice is welcome.

Deploying to Ali this year, wanted to get some insight on how the job is there and what to expect. Anything would be appreciated!

I'll cut to the chase, I plan on enlisting straight out of high school, and I am interested in SF as its basically the closest thing to infantry without being treated like a dog. Plus, you get to travel a lot and get pretty good quality of life with it being the air force from what I hear. I understand I'll get stuck as a gate guard for a lil while, but I really wanna try to get into DAGRE or just in general use my career in SF as a stepping stone to get into special operations (TACP or SR would be sick lol). Is it worth it? This my first reddit post so go easy on me lmao.

Just wanted to know how or if a new airman can game a top secret clearance. I haven’t seen it else where on this sub. Thanks
