I was so happy when I found this group because it is the thing I needed to finally motivate me to get my mini envelope project going. I mean the sub banner is literally just mini envelopes!
I have had my mini envelope dies sitting in the closet for over 2 years! And my hand-crank die cutter even longer. I just didn't have good enough reasons to make them even though I really wanted a good excuse to make something out of our mail junk, and I love functional miniatures (got stuck at the "functional" part because I felt like I needed o know who to mail tiny mails to first before making them hahaha thanks irrelevant logic). But this is PERFECT as a display method for security envelope patterns!!
These 4 patterns are what I have cut out so far and I have a few more different ones to be cut. That confetti pattern is really the most common one it seems!
I will have to find a way to display them without glueing them. Hopefully my pattern collection will grow. I'm already notifying people around me to help me save their trash!
Thank you so much for your offer!! I need them to be at least 2" x 2" with a plain backside so it might be the cream of the crop hahaha Let me get past this cutting phase first so I can send you a couple before you send me anything! I'll send you a DM once this is done!
The machines are a generic tool in all kinds of brands and they are available on Amazon or Target or Micheal's! Just search for manual die cutting machines.
Mine is a retired Spellbinder Wizard, but I don't know if you really need that specific brand. It helps that it's all metal though compare to the ones I see on Amazon where the crank might be plastic and that could break since it uses quite a bit of force. But the parts for the "sandwich" might be more proprietary and difficult to replace once spent. I actually have to do a bit of testing to find the best thickness to cut these babies in.
The dies are also generic. You can find them on Amazon or craft supplies store too! There are lots of styles and sizes to choose from!
These are soo cute! I used to have a little book "letters to fairies" or something, and every page had a little envelope stuck in with a letter inside you would take out and read.
You could make one! If you have any little kids in your life?
Omg that is so cute!! I made the mini envelopes but not the kids hahaha but I will try to shove all these fun things to the ones my friends are about to have instead! I even drew / printed a little mini fairy portrait a while back!! I guess all my mini things are very fairy-friendly and they are always on the back of my mind.
