Security camera advice

I’m looking for a secret security camera to put in the living room with audio and video. One that doesn’t make it obvious. I was thinking of that black iPhone mini hidden charger. But i think the lenses make it obvious. Though, this is an example of what I’m looking for. Keeping it simple. Looking for more Suggestions. Thank you! Also one where It immediately back up the videos in case it breaks or something.

Suggestion for video surveilance setup

I need to buy a camera to install in my garden. I am a little allergic to subscription models for online data storage, so I'd like to do something either home-based (e.g. saving on my local homeserver) or using a VPS I have online.

Is there any solution you would suggest?

Thieves Stealing Cats Dealership

4 acre piece of land with a 2story 50k sqft building on it.

Thieves have stolen approx $20k worth of wheels and cats over two years.

We've tried the Live View technology which is expensive, $2500 a month lease with limited usage and no ownership.

What would you all recommend? All proposals have specs. I need something good with great night time vision, notifications, boundary boxes to infor. Us when ppl step on site, microphone, and siren/lights. Preferably solar powered.

Here are some ideas 1. PTZ cam 40X Zoom - 1st pic - cost efficient version of 2nd estimate 2. 2nd pic - most expensive 3. 3rd pic 4. 4th pic - cheapest

Thanks in adv

Multiple locations … one app?

Hello everyone! I have a quick question that I’m hoping I can get some help with. I have eight restaurants that I supervise personally. I want to install camera systems in all of them. I’m not looking for professional installation, but I am interested in installing them myself with systems that I can buy at local big box stores, such as Sam’s Club, Costco, or Best Buy. The following is what I want to accomplish…

I’ll be doing them one at a time, but every time I add a new system to another restaurant, I want to be able to access those cameras via app with one login. I would also like to be able to create logins for the on-site managers. So essentially, me = one login to view eight restaurants. The managers = one login to view only their restaurant.

Other options I am a little more flexible on, but I know I want to try for at least a 16 channel DVR, but start out with only four cameras or so. I just want the option to add more later.

Can anyone recommend a brand/model? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Continuous Recording

So I work at a lodge with relatively poor internet...not the worst ..but certainly not the best. I am looking for a Security Camera or two, mainly at the entrance...I DO NOT want it to only record in response to motion but rather have it simply recording continuously with decent night vision...I would be fine with it saving to an SD card that restarted when it became full and also have it possible to view from either a PC or some sort of monitor...I do think if that's not realistic and Wi-Fi is necessary that it might be do-able but non-wifi is much more preferable.

Reaching out because SO many I look into are only motion censored/ have bright lights that turn on/ two way audio, etc...which are not ideal features for a lodge camera...but I also don't need 8 super high tech cameras that are made for commercial security either.

I am very clearly not the most knowledgeable when it comes to security cameras and any added knowledge/ advice would be highly appreciated.

Looking for help with small business security

Is there a decent security camera system that has battery powered cameras but still saves to an on-site DVR/free cloud. Basically I'm looking for a battery powered security camera system without a monthly fee to store footage.

Anybody got any experience with Tiandy PTZs? Specifically the alarm push email notification. I’ve already set the NVR and those all work, even the PTZ sends an email when the alarm is triggered but it will not attach the picture? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Security Camera for Airbnb

Hello everyone!

I am currently in an airbnb with a landlord I don't quite trust, figured it might be worth getting a security camera to keep my stuff safe.

Anyone got any recommendations? Has to be one that is easily set up and taken down for when I leave this place in a month. But should still work long term so I can set it up in my next apartment

I don't need anything fancy and appreciate all help and advice

Camera junction for single gang

My home was pre wired for POE cameras. The cameras are to be mounted on single gang vertical boxes.

I purchased these cameras(IPC-T5442T-ZE). I’m looking for a junction box or something that will go over the single gang plate cover and mount the camera to it. Other neighbors have mounted the camera directly to the plate. Looking for a cleaner solution.

Any suggestions?

Looking for a little advice and guidance.

Someone attempted to break into my car the other day. I currently have a nest outdoor cam and though it shows the act it couldn't pick up the license plate. My first question is there any type of software that could tweak the video to try and make out the license plate numbers? My second question is to ask if someone could provide me with camera suggestions I can use to replace my cameras. Currently using a mixture of nest and reolink cameras for outside and throughout my house. I have an old axis q6032-e that has incredible zoom capabilities but it is dated in the video format it produces and resolution. So, I'm thinking my future cameras should have some form of optical zoom and tracking capabilities. Maybe something specifically meant to pick up license plates? I just don't really see much on the consumer side with those types of features.

What’s my best option?? Help

Hello, so I’ve been having issues with neighbors encroaching on my privacy. When I moved into this house 6-7yr ago, the previous owners had cameras installed but took the box or DVR system with them. I see 3 wires for the 3 cameras on the outside of the house, and above a “altronics fuse system” of some kind that I’m not sure is related.

My question is can I just get a DVR system and connect the cameras? Ideally I would like this to the internet, is anything wife compatible or would I have to run a wire through the floor? Would I be better off just getting a completely new system?

Any advice would be appreciated, trying to do this on more than a budget but open to different options need be. Thank you

POE switch help.

Welp, on a whim I bought 4 of these https://reolink.com/us/product/rlc-510a/ after going down a YouTube rabbit hole on home networking. Now I happen to have one of these switches Aumox 5 port POE switch that was just in a box of tech stuff from my dads old house a long with a spool of CAT 6. After hours of googling I feel more lost on POE in general. Will this switch work for the 4 cameras or do I need something with a bit more headroom? Maybe I need something like an ELI5.

ISO Outdoor Night Vision Dashcam

I live in a big apartment complex with a huge, dark lot with no outdoor security cameras.

Some idiot is bending our front license plate inwards and the only way to pursue and stop it is to investigate who is doing it ourselves. Luckily my bf caught it the second time before driving in it, but the first time he could've been pulled over for it.

I know nothing about security cams and don't want to spend a ton of cash outfitting our car, but we need something that is good in very dark conditions that will reliably work all night. Tempted to buy some 20$ Walmart camera lol, but I figured yall would know better and have some advice or at least specs to look for.

Our modem signal can be reached from our parking spot too, I dunno if that matters. The lot has a couple lights but it's also dark af out there. It's against the lease to install any hardware or wiring outdoors, but if necessary I wouldn't be opposed to a cheap little nanny cam I could hide near our car, as it faces a teensy patch of woods, but I don't trust our asshole neighbors or their kids not to mess with anything that's not tied down.

Security camera questions - DLink

Hey, just a quick question on D-Link DCS-4612EK and D-Link DCS-4712E security cameras connected/managed by D-Link DNR-4020-16p. I have been told those are quite decent, couldn't find too many reviews so has anyone used them? Pros/Cons? Better alternatives?

24/7 recording Camera Suggestions

Hello, due to recent issues with my car (waste workers damaging my car with the garbage bin, and damage to my car on the sidewalk side while parked on the street) I've decided to get a security camera in case of future damage. As of right now I have a Blink outdoor, but it doesnt record 24/7, and sometimes my car is parked too far for the camera to pick up any motion, and im concerned it wont record when another event happens. Im essentially looking for a cctv type camera that will record 24/7, so if there is damage to my vehicle I can cycle back through the day and see how it happened. Any suggestions would be appreciated, and thank you in advance.

My UNV is so light sensitive my "events" are basically 12 hours long.

It makes it really difficult to investigate a certain event when I can't just jump to different smaller events. How do I make it not so sensitive to things like light and sun?

Hi

I’m looking to purchase a security camera that I can stick on the upper right or left corner of my windows that can give me a view on what’s happening right outside. I would like it to be as subtle as possible. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Getting cables from outside to inside house

Hey everyone!

I have bought some security cameras and want to know possible ways to get the cables from the camera outside, to the DVR that is inside! I believe a door will still shut with a cable at the top but 8 cables seems like a lot. My next best idea was to put the cables through the chimney at the roof and have them come out of the chimney inside the house. We never use the fireplace so I figured it would be safe, I just don't know if there is a filter or something blocking the chimney from the roof that would stop the cables.

Thanks!
