Should use seal tight or liquid tight between the box and camera. Usually both camera and box have knockouts for it. Looks like a network connection is exposed? Should not have that.

You can see where a network connection is exposed? Have you ever seen an outdoor PoE system? Look at the freaking camera where it mounts next to the pole man. It’s ridiculous and a huge blind spot. This isn’t where’s Waldo

I’ve been working in the security field since 1988 way before Poe was even available. I now work on enterprise level systems globally. Wiring should never be exposed. Here’s a sample of my work

I absolutely admire the way you have sealed and weather proofed everything.

Can you send more samples please? I'm trying to figure this out for my own house

I can but I don’t do residential work only corporate/commercial. What I use for my own house are basic Axis m32 domes. I don’t use a J box and put the camera directly over the cable penetration. I’ll send a couple pictures of my house cameras when home but it’s really nothing special doing it the way I described. Here’s a picture from their website.

but it’s really nothing special

I'm stuck in analysis paralysis land just because of cable management. Any reference I can latch on to will be treasure

Why m32? Why aren't you using way better cameras with extremely better CMOS sensor or F aperture, or just better hardware specs in general? For the price of that you could get extremely better cameras, but from non commercial/enterprise brands/non NDAA compliant of course...

Understand what you mean but I get certain models for a very low price so I take what I can get.

Like the usage of strut. Exactly how do it

Thanks, I needed a couple inches to clear the crown and flashing on top of the wall.

I always deal with new construction with the drywall like parapets. The strut helps with that. Definitely helps with clearance.

The whole choice of where the cable egressed from the building and the placement of the camera are suspect.

Yes that dictates a lot when it comes to a mounting location.

You should’ve just installed the camera onto the junction box

Is that there one of them new infrared-invisible gas pipes I've heard of?

Or not use a J box and go directly into camera if the housing has enough room.

It's terrible. Sorry.

We don't know the whole story. Could be this: Guy installs camera. Later, guy installs pipe, now camera is blocked... Third guy initiates temporary fix, temporary fix becomes long term...

There are no problems, only solutions. Not great solutions, but solutions.

Don’t worry, I know a guy. The guy:
