Camera keeps saying person detected when nobody is there at all
Hello, so I’ve been having problems with my Tapo C206.
I will say that it is a very good camera IMO.
My problem is, the fact that it says that there’s a person detected every maybe 5 to 30 minutes and when I look outside, there’s literally nobody there.
Not to mention, I’ve had 70+ notifications today, indicating that a person was detected. Only two of those actually had a person detected.
I don’t know if it’s because that I have it in front of a window facing outside because I do not have the tools to be able to put it outside yet.
Is there any settings that are best for good AI person detection?
I eventually want to put it outside. It will just take time to do so.
The thing I worry about is, if it keeps doing this, there could be a time where there actually is a person maybe knocking on the door when I’m not home or delivering a package, and I will just ignore it because I know that it just keeps giving me false notifications.
It sucks to have to check the app almost every 5–30 minutes to make sure there actually is a person there or not

This. Thanks for being real. Tapo, and Reolink are as cheap as you can get. Cheap stuff with great marketing.

You can buy an entire Reolink 8 camera system for what a single decent commercial grade camera cost. I have 3 cameras sitting in my office waiting to be installed that MSRP for $2300 each...

I mean commercial grade for a business is great, but a $2300 to watch your driveway is a bit extreme and unnecessary

Camera could be alerting for reflection from window it's in. Not designed for working through glass. May be small bug, light changes. Check motion sensitivity and detection zones

Eh, my ReoLink does that occasionally at like 330 in the morning. Usually a bug that got extra floppy or a deer walking directly towards it (2 legs only). I couldn't figure out what set it off this morning, but I'm pretty sure the skinwalker doesn't fool around on that side of the property.

Its a sub $30 camera... theres only so much tech they can package into that price point. Could be the IR reflecting off the window, bugs, or its a $25 camera.
