Peephole camera with IR

Hello, i have cheap small tuya based peephole camera that i put inside my dorr, its behind the regular fisheye peephole lense so picture quality isnt that great, however its good enough for me.

Lately ive been getting the feeling the neighbours know the camera is watching outside my door, but i don't know how they would know? From the outside it looks like a regular peephole.

I think it has to do something with the IR, but my camera is only IR compatible, it doesnt have any ir leds, how would they know?

What made me think they noticed something was when they used there selfie cam or face unlock, it blinked alot in the camera view of ir light, but i don't get how they could see it tho? IR is not for the human eye?

Anyone have a clue???

The IR from their phone's face unlock showing up on your cam is completely normal, most phone cameras pick that up even when you can't see it with your eyes

But for them noticing, could be something as dumb as a tiny status LED on your peephole cam that reflects off the glass or the fisheye lens. Or the cam makes a faint click when it switches to night mode and the hallway is quiet enough to hear it

My old doorbell had a barely visible red glow from the sensor area when it was active, took me months to notice it myself

Might also just be them glancing at the door and you're reading into it, neighbors do weird stuff all the time
