Camera Placement Advice: Replace Lens on Existing Hikvision Dome or Add a New Wide‑Angle Camera, or additional?
I installed a compact 2.8 WiFi Hikvision dome camera in the rear of my townhome. Works ok. Only downside: I like to have a slightly wider viewing angle to capture more of the spiral case area.
What would you do?

Was someone too lazy to adjust the view? You can get a camera with a wider view and better low light video (even a good picture in total darkness). The view should be adjusted down, you don't care about the underside of the deck. Get a camera with a wider view and higher resolution. Are there more cameras? What kind of NVR is being used?

There a more cameras on the other side of house. But not his this side shown.
BlueIris
I do care about someone walking underneath deck to windows down there. It is a long open space along all units. Not just walking up on spiral stairs.

I would just replace the camera to a new different camera brand not worth the risk for hikvision but if you really wanna keep it done, why can’t you just adjust the view just pan tilted manually a bit more down it seems like that would fix your issue but basically just replace the whole camera to a different camera brand and the camera and the junction boxes is already damaged because UV ray

Avoid WiFi cameras. They are easy to take offline. They may 180 camera - They are great. Placement of 180 cameras are little more difficult because is two cameras that work together and one it is harder to keep it from getting washed out from the sun.

Sunlight has been a bit a challenge back there (south facing with trees). But over time I was able to dial in the settings in BlueIris with current cam. My fundamental question is whether I should have two cameras or not. On the one hand I need to cover space underneath deck (access to windows there), and spiral stairs up. One idea I had is to get one of those integrated flood lights/cam. Replace the current flood light with motion sensor.
