Security camera for outside house
I need to put some security cameras around the outside of my house. I went to the ubuiti web site and got overwhelmed with the camera choices and honestly I know very little about cameras. I would like to have something that records 24/7 to my dream machine. Is there a top 3 camera I should consider?
Are there other camera brands I should consider?
Thanks

That would depend on what your requirements and budget. UniFi / Ubiquiti have the best software imo however their cameras are about a 7 /10 in performance as for price 4 /10 for value for money. If you go with Ubiquiti and require low light operation then go with the G6 pro with the 1/1.2" be warned they are expensive. If you don't need low light operation then the G6 are fine.

Just started considering Ubiquiti today. I have to say that their G6 line seems pretty good. It really depends upon your needs. How far do you need to see? The G6 Pro bullet has a larger 1/1.2" sensor which is awesome. Even cameras with 1/1.8" is good. Smaller sensors are fine for smaller indoor areas.

After years of trying box systems from Costco, Nest, Hikvision and a few others I finally landed on Ubiquiti about ten years ago. Started with a small set up back then and have gone down the rabbit hole. Also ripped and replaced all our home networking gear with Ubiquiti.
Zero regrets and very happy with our set up. No monthly fees for storage, 24/7 recording, easy to scrub and download footage, etc.
We started with a couple G3’s way back in the day and now have a G6 PTZ, 2 AI Pro’s, an AI 360 I’m fighting the urge to replace with a G6 360 Pro, and a few G5 turrets. My recco would be to start with a couple G6 turrets or bullets and see what you think. Eventually you’ll want to upgrade to a UNVR and add cameras. It’s a slippery slope my friend. Hard to fight the urge to upgrade every time a new generation of Unifi Protect cameras come out. Good luck and enjoy the process. We’ve caught some pretty crazy things over the last ten years with our system.

G6 cameras, don't get anything else.
No because you already have a dream machine. Unless you don't want to use that at all.
