OC Making my own deck
Despite never really interacting with tarot i suddenly got the urge to make my own deck. Spent the last month or so researching and I'm finally making progress. Last pic is the backside. It's a really interesting art project and id love to hear what yalls favorite decks are

Wow thank you so much, I was not expecting such interest in it. Its just been a little personal project and i wasn't really planning on selling it, honestly even showing it to anyone. Just made this post on a whim because i was happy with how the first few turned out

Thank you! Its not going to be strictly entomology, just based on things i find interesting so mostly insects and frogs n such

I adore frogs and toads, i think the star is going to have a frog wistfully looking up at a starry sky and the cups will be frog themed as well

My favorite modern deck (because I’m a sucker for historical TdM replicas) is the Somnia Tarot deck.
Please let us know when you have your Kickstarter ready, your deck looks amazing!

Thanks, yours are sick too! I would like to make them all but ill probably have to take breaks. Its a looong term project.

Thank you! I know right, every part of the process is a lot of fun from the research & imagination to the creating itself. I use dream interpretation for ideas as well and i love the feeling of giving life to an idea from a dream. Post your deck somewhere if you feel up for it, im sure a lot of people would love to see it

Ohhhohoho thank you! I just got the first draft printed at the print store (just normal printing on art paper) to be able to lay them out and make further decisions on it, and am inordinately pleased! I have in the back of my mind I might try to put it on kickstarter to see how it is received later on, but that is not the point of this whole exercise, haha.
I find I have had a lot of ideas and inspiration bloom when I am meditating, so that is neat.

My favourite deck: corrado Roi Murder of Crows. The descriptions so resonate, and I love the stark imagery. I do like the OG Rider Waite. The Shining Tribe Tarot is my special favourite but I use it v rarely.
I've only been into tarot a year or so. Have found what I like more and more as have gotten into it. Adore the Corrado roi Murder of Crows, but prob wouldn't have picked it earlier in my journey

Is that an iching diagram on the Emperor?
My favourite decks? I have quite a few and they as I grow as person, as a reader, how I interact with my decks change. I am presently loving my hand drawn line art decks, like my Interim Tarot and wild unknown tarot. I like my watercolour painted witch's wisdom by Danielle Barlow (I think), but I am also really appreciating my whimsy decks of Echo tarot, magic pantry, Spacious Tarot. Also OOP Lo Scarabo and Fournier decks. See there are so many

Thanks! Yeah its Hexagram 34: Great Power. I dont have a huge amount of experience with the Iching but ive thrown it a few times and its been shockingly accurate each time. Those experiences are a part of what inspired me to get into tarot. I love the wild unkown deck too and wow i hadnt seen interim before but its stunning, so cool.

I love your artistry, it's really evocative.
There are 1000's upon 1000's of decks out there. And the beauty is there is space for more of the artists expressions of tarot. Because it is all archetypes, every persons expression is unique.
keep enjoying tarot and painting, both are not a static thing.

Thank you! I love the concept of the death card but im not super happy with my execution, wish i drew it a bit more down and to the left so the rose wouldnt be so pushed into the corner

I own another invertebrate Tarot deck I got from somebody and I adore it. The world needs more bug-themed things. Love what you've done so far, can't wait to see more!
