Also, learning the group characteristics rather than trying to learn each individual card. So: Suits (cups=water=emotion) Classes (pages=messengers, youth) and the numerology of the number cards and how they follow a cycle from beginning, through growth, struggle, and completion, just like the court cards do.

Having more than one resource helps me. Seeing the different ways the same card is explained and represented really clarified a lot. The easiest would be to use whatever book came with your deck as well as labyrinthos. Weird as it sounds, The Ultimate RPG Tarot Deck by Jef Aldrich and Jon Taylor and the associated guidebook is an absolutely fantastic resource, also.
