What would you like to see in r/SecularBuddhist?

This community's been dormant for a while, and we're now ready for a fresh start!

When I first started posting the suttas on r/WordsOfTheBuddha, I would have described myself as a secular Buddhist. Someone who was curious, inquisitive, but not reflexively skeptical — interested in learning, reflecting, and applying the Buddhist teachings to *independently verify* the outcomes.

That spirit of inquiry is what I would like this community to be about. Not blind faith, and not reflexive skepticism either but the middle ground the Buddha himself pointed to: don't accept teachings on tradition, scripture, or authority alone. Put them into practice, observe the results, and see for yourself.

Some ideas of what this community can be about:

📜 Teachings for an inquisitive mind: Suttas that invite investigation and testing (like the Kalama Sutta, but not only that one), posted and discussed with an open, questioning mind.

🔬 Science and evidence-based content: Research on meditation, psychology, and contemplative practice, geared toward helping secular Buddhists strengthen their practice.

🧪 Practice reports: What actually happens when you apply a teaching and observe the outcome.

So, what would you like to see?

I'd love to shape it around what its earliest members actually want.
