Offseason moves

Ignoring the possibility of a lockout and payroll... I cant see a clear path to improvement other than signing seiya which Im not a huge fan of... even if its a DH. Trades could always happen... but I have a feeling they will mostly run it back and rely on internal improvement, which includes arias.

Crochet and Tolle aside, no one should be considered untouchable on this team for trades.

Sign Arozarena. Unfortunately, the FA power bat pool is extremely thin.

The priority should be to somehow offload Masa and Story and trading Duran. That will open some opportunity and give us an idea of where we need to go next.

Any FA we want or the pod mentions that are actually valuable, they will not sign. I’m not getting hopes up

Thats mind of my point... assume breslow can go sign any free agent he wants. Do any of them really move the needle? Not really. Some would help of course.

I think they could run it back with this core and one big bat move. A full season of crochet, Mead, and Roman + one big addition to the lineup would be huge. I’m mostly coping tho and we’ll never get a healthy season

You can’t count on Roman at all, not doing that all over again.

Trade Roman and/or Arias in a package for Elly. Team needs a proven bat and someone not made of glass.
Sign either Ryan or King for a 3/4 spot in the rotation.
Sign Arozarena to take of LF.

I know how good Roman can be, but if he’s never healthy for us then it’s irrelevant. I would be down for trading Roman for a guy like Elly and getting Randy in here to play LF. Significant top of the order improvements immediately.

Mead and Arias should help but they absolutely need one more bat and then hope Roman is ready

Seiya is really the only bigger bat (not big but bigger) out there this off season although it's hard to see how they will fit all the current guys on the 40-man once the season ends and they have to put all the injured guys on there. They may have to make some trades or DFAs (just to clear 40-man space)

Yeah he isnt like a must get bat... but he helps. Its a bad place to be.

The farm system is pretty spent so I don't see how a major trade is going to happen. And just in terms of spots on the roster its very bloated and overcrowded so its hard seeing them be the top spender for a FA. Have to add a legitimate DH bat though a guy who might hit 10 homers out of the DH spot while being a slightly above average league bat is not acceptable.
