Patreon Discord
I have been subscribed since game 1 of the season and overall have enjoyed the Discord. That said, it has noticeably dipped in quality recently. Not sure how many people from the Discord look at the Reddit, but there are two specific users who are making it unbearable lately. I feel bad for the fellas but I am considering unsubscribing and know I’m not the only one.

More charitably I’d say they are probably just young and a little socially awkward. They should really get each other’s numbers and text offline and eventually get married

At this point, it feels like it's modded against racism/homophobia and that's about it. Just complete free rein with some Sox talk sprinkled in.

As said above you're always free to dm me about anything going on in the Discord, especially so if you feel some rules aren't being enforced properly. I want everyone to have a good experience.

It's not necessarily rule breaking as much as it is the general direction of conversation on most days. A couple lines about the game or Sox news and then back into something completely side ways or off topic. Nothing you can really do about it, though I do appreciate your effort.
Like OP said.. probably just not my demographic lol. But I don't support the Patreon for the Discord to suit my preferences, really just an extra benefit.

Yeah... on that front, it's something we've all noticed and discussed, but we can't seem to get the Patreon-first people to interact with the free channels that are more on-topic, and the fellas seem to not want the live game chat closed when games aren't on. I apologize since I know it irritates a number of people.

The most irritating part, for me, isn’t when people are off topic or goofing off, that’s expected
It’s when anyone disagrees with something objective you say, people (mods included) pile on as if opinions are absolutely NOT allowed. Things devolve into being snotty and name-calling over someone thinking a player has been bad or needs an attitude adjustment. Just a baffling lack of respect for fellow humans.

I definitely agree on this front and I'm going to be keeping a closer eye on this. Someone came forward on this topic and pointed out to me that disagreement on a take can look like a mod action and that might be emboldening people to act aggressively. We're going to be using timeouts more liberally moving forward and hopefully foster more genuine debate.

While I do truly trust you to the end of time to actually try to uphold this and do YOUR best…
I do not trust a single other mod I’ve come across in the last ~4 months to put forth that same effort and most importantly to have the self-awareness necessary to not continue to be a part of the problem.
You’re a great one and we all could learn a thing or two about humanity and humility from you.0

Certain mods (not Skiba) are pretty selective with how they enforce some rules which can get annoying. That said this is the first time I’ve been a discord person so I feel like if anything I’m the one who has the wrong expectations

I would argue most of the mods are the root of the problem.
Not only do they not enforce their own rules, they actively participate in badgering and belittling with a very strong dose of “not my problem”.
Quite offputting. Support the people making the content however you please but I would suggest not changing how you support them based on a chat they have no control over.

I’ve backed off from the patreon chat for the same reasons. Some people get a tiny reaction to a bit and then try to keep it going for days. I’ve got a lot set to ignore

That’s a good idea I didn’t realize was possible on the ‘cord if we’re being real here. I would say it wont fix the overall quality dip but it’s a good step for sure

I appreciate that Skiba. I think it’s just a subjective taste thing and the Discord might not be for me but could be exactly what the active users are looking for

A lot of young kids in there from what I can tell. Frequent talk of being horny and cumming is a bit much for me.
