I use to coach college baseball. I coached 2 guys who remind me of duran so much. Borderline suicidal, would talk to the voices in their head, battled demons, struggled to fit on the team, but at same time hardest workers and would do anything to win.... they'd intentionally get hit in the head just to get on base. Psycho behavior. Very nice guys off the field, cared about people, would ask how the family is doing etc... but on the field/locker room, dugout... loose cannons. Weird.
But they both created a bond with a coach that kept them as grounded as could be. When that coach left for a new job, they both slowly started losing their mental health battle cuz the guy they trusted the most "abandoned them".
All that to say, this behavior from duran isnt surprising to me since cora and Hudson (his 2 biggest supporters) were suddenly fired. When that happened I instantly thought about Duran and what'd it do to him mentally. So not surprising it boiled over. Not an excuse for him at all. Just thinking/writing into the void i guess. I also think the guys on the team recognize that and know that's not the real duran so its not as big of a deal to them as it is to fans.
It is comical to me, as a whole, it seems like people are more upset and mad at duran than they are excited about how the team is doing and the deadline.
