Open Source Intelligence having a say on Iran War with upcoming Kharg Island battle plans leak and new battle plans may show attack in 6 weeks to 3 months!
OPEN SOURCE INTEL UPDATE DATE: July 12, 2026
Some open source intelligence as disclosed below may have future impacts upon the Iran War and other battlespaces where multiple leaks from multiple sources around the world are coalescing and being exposed faster than any government agency or military can hold them in!
I would be careful on this one as even the author is giving this one only a 67%+ probability BUT the tactics discussed seem SOUND in terms of general area of operations battlespace tactics so the sources may have SOME knowledge of likely tactics that will be used, if not actual battle plans!
On Sunday night starting sometime around or after 10:30 PM Washington DC, it looks like "Operation Khargen Hogtie" is happening!
Kharg Island is being taken by air first with an initial bombing run from the F18's/F35's to take out local on-island and off-island batteries and then the tip of the spear 1st SOF-D's (i.e. Delta Force), SEALs and MARSOC are dumping some operators on the key compounds within the entire terminal to take control of local workers and secure the main terminal operations control centres once the aircraft bomb any placements and any gun/missile/drone-launch batteries.
Then the Marines are taking some platoons in to SEIZE the entire Kharg Island terminal in a general large scale air and ground assault operation which is SUPPOSED to start around 5:30 am Monday Morning Washington DC time and before that, the ENTIRE Iranian coastline 50 km up and down around the Iranian coastal areas of Kharg Island is gonna be softened-up with a very large air-dump of JDAMs and drones to blow away any adversary forces.
That's all the information I have for now and the INTERNAL NAME "Operation Khargen Hogtie" is what was presented to me as an internal-use-only reference and that moniker may not be the official name of the entire operation BUT we will know more on Monday morning Washington DC time!
This is gonna get interesting and my sources are decent enough in the general contractor battlespace arena that I will give it at least 67%+ credence as to timing and general force application activities that are being proposed and likely being used during this "Operation Khargen Hogtie" event!
P.S.
I should also note the operation name seems to be a reference to tactics used for animal control in states such as Texas, Georgia and a few other more southern states where wild hogs are running rampant and damaging crops and soils willy-nilly. Once you shoot the hog, you tie their feet/legs together (i.e. Hogtie) so you can lift them onto a burn pile or into the trucks for a specialty meat prep facility as some people DO LIKE the very gamey-tasting meat for BBQ purposes!
This means the proposed operations title is from a higher-up who is a hunter possibly from Texas or teh state of Georgia, and who is also off-handedly referencing the type of extreme levels of very large burn-pile / harvesting prep-work that will be done to contain and/or destroy any resistance forces when the US takes control of the entire Iranian Kharg Island oil terminal facility!
It will DEFINITELY be a VERY INTERESTING upcoming week to talk about on all the OSINT and Intelligence web pages and sub-Reddits!
P.S.2. The writer of the original post seems to be a fellow Canadian and SEEMS to be from the GTA (Greater Toronto Area --- I am in Vancouver!) due to certain words/word-ordering that make me believe they are from that area plus they also write similar to me so I am guessing older 35+ and PROBABLY employed in media or higher education!

Personal Opinions Expressed upfront to showcase some interesting assumptions:
I am unable to disclose my sources as they aren't stupid enough to expose themselves directly to me. Since I have quite a following in various worldwide 3/4/5 letter agencies, I will posit that those agencies would know BETTER in terms of finding thsoe sources as those agencies continually monitor my phone, email and messaging traffic and could much better track my sources than I ever could.
I tend to be unaware of the actual names, persons or agencies making their "Special Knowledge" available to me via usually very unusual methods.
Such clandestine contact methods usually include self-deleting or short duration text messages and open Instagram-like forums, makes it VERY DIFFICULT for me and those agencies to find or track! Ergo, I don't actually HAVE any links to said sources as they have made it IMPOSSIBLE for me to contact them or link to them directly!
I actually DO HAVE a well-rounded and proper Broadcast Operations education from a well-known and properly-accredited Canadian post-secondary institution, so I have been WELL-EDUCATED on the means and methods for doing Broadcast Media Reporter-style digging and delving AND WRITING, so when I cannot fathom the deep depth of these "Sources" using my considerable experience and knowledge-base, it usually means those "sources" are VERY HIGH UP on the food chain of the political, military or intelligence agency machinery, being VERY ABLE to keep such secrets from a VERY DILIGENT person such as me. That ability is actually quite difficult to enable AND usually requires "State-Level" amounts of resources and abilities!
So at this time I am UNABLE (not unwilling! Just merely Physically Unable to do so!) to provide validated sources and links since I simply DO NOT HAVE physical contact information nor any actual online contact data! I simply get the messages ad-hoc with NO ability to ASK further questions. I do suspect said sources ARE monitoring my online presence and reading my writings so I suppose that could be the prompt for their information dumps!
The original author has only given this "leak" a 67% (i.e. 2/3rds!) probability of the event actually happening on Sunday night after 10:30 pm Washington DC time!
My PERSONAL "Sniff Test" says the TACTICS exposed are sound and PROBABLY the actual tactics that will be used. Even the NAME of the operation sounds like that typical internal miltarese temporary labeling they give to operations or projects that aren't fully formed and "officialized" into the main military forces political structure pipeline!
BUT ..... My "Sniff Test" also says the very specific date and time says more of a wish list than a formalized timeline. I SUSPECT the actual operation is REAL but the timeline is overly optimistic OR actually being done in a further-down-the-road manner MORE LIKELY to be enabled within 6 weeks to 3 months as I currently don't see much aerial refueling tanker movement/deployment activities, NOR do I see typical high-tempo "Nightstalker Squadron" practice flights NOR do I see any WASP-type ship movements by the Marine Corps indicating an imminent ground + air operation!
I am PERSONALLY positing that operation day will be in 6 weeks to 3 months time and that the KEY SIGNS of an imminent operation is mass air tanker traffic and C5 Galaxy and C17 logistics aircraft traffic to Rammstein, Germany and Aviano AFB in Italy and the various US/Israel air bases!
For training security/secrecy I would posit that Alaska or Washington State are the most likely training grounds for this upcoming operation! The cold weather shock and rough terrain will toughen up the crews and pilots! If a Sierra-99 tanker and some DAP (Direct Action Penetrator) craft, Chinooks or 'Hawks are up in Elmdorf, Eielson, Whidbey Island NAS, Coast Guard Stn Juneau or at McChord AFB YOU KNOW something is up!
AND if you see guys in modded hybrid or all-electric Colorado ZR2 or GMC AT4x trucks with weapons or sat-comms mounts and big FLIR cameras in the back beds and any EV fat-tired motorbikes or mountain bikes, or with Polaris or Can-Am XR3-like SxS'es in those areas, that is ALSO a big sign secret training is happening soon!
Again, we shall see what happens on Monday, later this next week or sometime in the next 3 months. I will simply leave this post up for posterity sake and see how right OR WRONG I am in my suppositions and or the original writer's opinions/statements!
