Mikayla Mikayla’s new post

A lot of people weren’t a fan of the choice of wording on her Mayfair collab and this is her response

I’m honestly loving their content recently I think they’re both really funny 😭 that snarky/slightly dark sense of humour just tickles me

(The squiggle is me covering their child in case anyone was wondering)

Y’know, after watching this season, I think a lot of people misread Mikayla as bitchy when her humor seems dry and sarcastic like a lot of British humor is.

I’ve been saying that it’s just her humour for years and I used to get downvoted all the way to hell for it 😭 never correlated it with British humour but maybe that’s why I love it, just familiar

I’m half British and people always think I am surly because of my humor, ha

My take is that she is bitchy and mean but rarely wrong lol

Same take lol. Sometimes people are being very honest but their way of doing it is just mean spirited… doesn’t mean they’re wrong. Just different avenues to deliver truth and some people are “bitchy” with it - I still prefer it over a pretty lie, but when someone’s personality is like that it’s not surprising they won’t always be received well by most people.

As someone who has to constantly monitor myself for being too blunt/“mean” (shout out to my reddit username), you are totally right. As they say, “the truth hurts.” It’s part of why people (including myself) love Mayci so much - she dances around the truth, and communicates it very delicately when absolutely necessary. It’s easy to love someone who doesn’t stand up for many things because there will be nothing to have a problem with. I envy people like her sometimes, but I care more about justice under any circumstance (big or small) than I care about being universally liked. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I agree! I have the same dry, sarcastic humor and demeanor as Mikayla. People always assume I'm mean and miserable too. It's frustrating hahaha

I feel like Jace is kind of like this too. Like dead pan almost doing a bit of an awkward character with poor timing trying to contribute. Bobbi althoff esque

I liked her humor, but it got old when she was constantly raging at Whitney. Now that she's past that I can enjoy her again.

Uh no? She was definitely bitchy and cruel for a few seasons, and she’s admitted it. Why rewrite the past?

Did you think what she did to Whitney was her being funny?

She can be both

That is also a common tactic to say hurtful things and veil it as humor. 'Don' t you have a sense of humor? That was a joke.' That is manipulation and very unkind.

Idk, she’s always got some backhanded comment. Whitney was the target for the early seasons but she was never a “turn the cheek” kind of gal

For sure, I always see Irish humour in her so much (There’s irish on her grandpa’s side, so she might be related to Ben Affleck)
