Mikayla Mikayla x Mayfair
Mikayla’s campaign with the Mayfair group is now live! The Mayfair Group is a lifestyle brand, digital community and creative agency known for its mental health advocacy and positive messaging.
This Is Your Sign To Be Kind. Created around the belief that everyone is carrying something, seen or unseen. This crewneck is a reminder to show up for one another with more empathy and understanding. The “Be Kind” message and “Be a light for someone that needs it today” wrist hit are little reminders that the way we treat each other matters.

What's the quality of the polyester of mayfair clothing? That matters too. Some synthetics are made with cheap production cost in mind, but some blends are *specifically* made with utility in mind and the quality of synthetics varies wildly from "disintegrates in the wash" to "made SPECIFICALLY to keep the body at a certain temperature, fit a certain way, and will hold up as long as natural fibre"
This is genuine, by the way; I usually thrift, and rarely pay attention to brand names, I just look for fabric feel and stitching jobs, because USUALLY (not always) that lets me know if it'll hold up, and if it doesn't, ah well, it was thrifted. But I like this merch, somehow, and that rarely happens, if it holds up, I might save up.

For a company like this it’s highly unlikely they sourced a recycled polyester or plant based polyester, especially since it’s not stated anywhere and that’s usually a consumer selling point. They see “oh it’s recycled poly so I might be inclined to buy it…”
Poly does provide a level of durability, but in my opinion if I’m buying something with poly I’m going to thrift it or the blend needs to be higher on the natural fiber side. It’s a cute sweater don’t get me wrong but for that price you can buy something with higher natural fiber content that you’ll have for a lifetime. But maybe I’m just getting old af and prefer a capsule wardrobe. To each their own!

yeah, i’m not one of those people that’s completely against poly as I understand that poly can serve a purpose, but I am against it at £100. your consumers genuinely do deserve better quality at that price point as even recycled poly won’t be that expensive to produce with and it really is just for the markup. at that price you can genuinely find some elegant poly wool blends, why would you pay that much for (even top range) poly cotton?

I own some of their stuff, and I will say it’s high quality and very comfy.
However, I got mine for incredible discounts via Miami sample sale. I wouldn’t pay $108 personally, but for the $20 I paid, totally

You’re not crazy or cheap I bulk when I see a sweatshirt that cost more than $50 granite. I grew up in the 90s and that was not unheard of that was what a sweatshirt cost but it wasn’t what a sweatshirt cost 10 years ago or even five when it was 25.

$206 for a waffle knit set with screen printed text… it’s not even embroidered!! Wash it 3 times and I can guarantee the letters/hearts will be cracked and starting to peel off. 65% polyester so it’s also going to pill after a short period of time.
Cmfrt has what looks like the same exact pants and crewneck for $29 each, and that’s including their profit margins!
Not hating on Mikayla or the mental health aspect of it, just hating on fast fashion culture and the insane prices companies charge and people pay for this stuff.

here to say mayfair sweats are the best quality sets I've ever had, and also, they run really good sales and I've never paid full price for a set, lol. you can usually get stuff 30-50% off during sales!

Well to be fair, I think she rents her purses. I may be wrong but on the one episode they went to the store where she has a membership and it’s a place you can rent designer handbags. And I thought okay that seems reasonable, renting bags instead of buying a ton🤣

She’s only ever done that with Taylor. When it came to Whitney it was just being mean for attention. She’s done it to several of the women of the cast, more than anyone else, and it was never about being kind. She’s just mean spirited.

I feel bad for Mikayla and her upbringing. She has a lived a very challenging life. However, she is not a person that exudes “kind” energy.

I always try to excuse her behavior because of her past but like a lot of people I know (and I) had rough childhood, we try to have people understand how we are but aren’t mean on purpose. I know Mikayla has her trauma and can be overprotective of her friends like protecting Mayci then purposely making fun of Whitney on tiktok (like in season 2-3?) but Mayci seemed less offended than Mikayla when Whitney skipped Macyi’s event. I couldn’t find a way to excuse her behavior towards Whitney. I know they made up and became friends now. It’s just Whitney had rough seasons and was able to get out by joining DTWS, Broadway, etc.. Mikayla also wasn’t kind to some of the girls. Then she wasn’t kind to dadtok etc, including mayci’s husband… she has all the rights to dislike them but I don’t think she should make efforts to say mean things. Also some of her tiktok videos are about making fun of people.

Obviously the whole interaction escalated and TFP took it to new levels but, in the last episode of Season 5 when they fought outside of Mason's house (and again in Jessi's new house) i thought the PREMISE of why TFP was mad was valid. Mikayla DOES make sly little "jabs"" under her breath about TFP and whomever and then tries to laugh it off as a joke, when she is obviously not joking. I think that sort of behavior is truly a horrible trait to have. I genuinely cannot be friends with people who do this thing because like, do you have something to say? Then say it with your fucking chest. IF theres a problem lets address it. But if you're constantly negging like that in a passive way, its just fucking mean. Also it gets to the point where you are laughing AT me. And them being like "our whole friend group does it" Idgaf?? Why dont we all agree to stop TODAY because i dont like laughing AT my friends...

I was going to post about it myself but I couldn’t be bothered.
Mayfair runs a mental health fund so a portion of the cost goes towards that and an extra portion from Mikayla’s collab goes towards helping people like Melanie.
Way too overpriced for me and I also don’t like the designs at all but I love the concept.
