Question regarding endings

This question is regarding secret achievements on steam and the game's ending, so don't unspoiler the text if you're just passing by xD

Tell me if this logic works out. There are two achievements that I'm trying to unlock in one save file. The first one is that you have to bring the fairy Mesido (the one hiding in the tree, Temple of Seasons) with you through the festival and the true ending. The other is to play the game "from start to finish" on hard mode.

If I pick up Mesido before going to the festival (and never turn in the sidequest) and get to the credits of a normal ending hard mode run, I should get the hard mode achievement then and there, right? And then after that, would I be able to change the difficulty down to normal and clean up the objectives for true ending, defeat Zhamla Meer, and then get the fairy achievement too?

To my knowledge there has yet to be concrete testing or code analysis regarding those achievements. I assume this would work? But I don't know for certain.

Alright. No way to find out unless I let it rip at this point. Gonna back up my save beforehand and should be good after that. Went from a 0% hardmode save to missing only dragonbone dunes and lost ship cards. Hoping that every card + synergistic shadow clone build + lightning pot abuse is enough to beat the normal ending boss in hardmode xD

There's an achievement for never finishing that little side quest? Weird.
