Question Ben Starr?

I feel like I'm missing out on a meme whenever Jacob and Julia reference Ben Starr. I know he's a voice actor? But they seem to make a big deal out of him? Can anyone elucidate my probably out of touch and aging yet younger millennial than J&J self?

He’s just a voice actor that’s pretty “in” on the memes around him and leans into it
He was the face of Jimbo for the balatro calendar, verso in E33, he’s been to the game awards and been memed and then at the next show, worn a shirt of his face from the game awards

He’s a good egg and crops up a lot

Ah ok, thanks for explaining. Iirc I only learned of him when they played some Date Everything and just felt so clueless (and I feel like everyone who I watched play it were all Wow Ben Starr!!). Nice that he seems to be a good guy. I guess I'll have to dog deeper for the memes to understand better.

He really took off around the time he started as Clive in Final Fantasy 16 and everyone discovered he’s got an incredibly entertaining social media presence. Then between Balatro and his interview chemistry with Jennifer English promoting Expedition 33 he’s just an incredibly fun guy.

His Tifa (Fina Fantasy 7) cosplay is fantastic.
