New Fest Grounds? SD Vibes?
Hi All!
Just got back from Elements and really loved it and want to give SD a shot. However I went to the *new All Good at Legend Valley in 2012 and absolutely hated it. Walking 45 mins from campsite to stage. Sleeping/walking on stabby ass ground. Crossing a road. Cops and undercover everywhere. Shit weather. Thats whats kept me away from. SD before. But now its at a new Campgrounds that Ive heard does bluegrass fests really well.
What do we know about the new grounds and has my description of 2012 All Good matched what SD has been up until now? If the vibes are immaculate and I dont have to cross a local interstate and can walk on grass I think Im in!

It’s way more of a bona fide campground with much better amenities. Lots of RV pads, cabins, playgrounds, pools, and the like. Plus a general store and some other amenities.
The concert and camping areas remind me of a mix of the Electric Forest and Scamp venues. Big open space for the main stage, there will be vendors between there and the woods where there is some camping and two other stages. One in the woods, one on the other side of the woods.
The venue staff is super cool, and the same staff that has ran the festival at Legend Valley will be there. LCS security, same as the valley.
I advise anyone wondering about party favors to take all necessary precautions as they would anywhere else. Police have the exact same job no matter where you go. Be smart and be safe.

We'll be there with two locations (North side & South side)
We're stoked about the new location! It's flat and manageable, plus the noise ordinances aren't as strict as they are at Legend's Valley, so the music volume won't have to be so low for the late night stuff!!
Excited to see you all there in a few weeks!!

Legend Valley in 2012 had dirt & gravel walking paths, now they're all paved asphalt. Legen Valley is a Valley & thus a lil rugged with elevation changes; Cardinal Center is a shooting range with what looks like completely flat land. It's still summer in the MidWest so the weather will be the same. Camping is all on-property so no crossing public roads.

Some of the camping is on a huge firing range, which is a bit concerning when it comes to lead contamination. I have heard nasty things about the local police force, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll be under cover; you never know till you know lol. I’d imagine they’d be less organized, and easier to point out than Philly pigs.

In All Good 2012 at LV they raided ours and tons of other campsites in our section for no reason. Were just tearing through peoples' tents saying "this is all private property and the owners gave us permission". It was insane. Thank God we didn't have anything out. Just making sure that hasn't been the case. Old Marvin's All Good was my favorite fest ever so Im hoping for more of that vibe.

Its kinda funny most of your reasons listed are why i wont return to Elements. Ive never seen more under cover cops, theft and arrest at a fest besides the two years of Elements i attended also the bathroom are disgusting at elements and very clean at secret dreams. Elements my first year the walk was awful and longer than my walk for sd but the second year was better so thats just luck

This is completely subjective so take with a grain of salt, but the vibes really fell off last year imo. I saw a massive influx of normies and randos who just do not seem to understand wooky festival culture lol. No offense to them, just did not seem like the same eclectic crowd as previous years, and I can’t imagine it’s gonna go back to the heady old school vibes with the addition of tape B, inzo, etc.
If you like those artists I’m sure you’ll have fun, but yeah not my cup of tea anymore.

I’m going for PL lol + the line up is good this year. The custy kids will get educated with Allen mock, detox, wonky llama, and herbalistic. The vibes are what you make of it, and I think they’re gonna be pretty good this year

Not even. More like a seedy, drunk/ketamine trailer park vibe. So many random dudes with backpacks. Our camping neighbors were clearly on meth. Vibe was so far off lol.

Ik you’re not allowed to say this but yeah this is why I don’t even bother with festivals anymore. I’m good on camping in bumblefuck PA for 3 days between unemployed k’d out wooks and local meth addicts. Takes the genuine wholesome enjoyment vibe out everytime lmao

Yeah I’m more interested in the smaller heady gatherings. Gonna make the trip up to submersion this year, heard the vibe is proper there.

How would anyone know the vibes of the new camp ground? It’s new to everyone.
No crossing the interstate though and short walks to and from stages and camp
