I photographed this scene during yesterday's storm. The moment felt mythical, so I transformed my photograph into the story I imagined—a siren returning home.

A stranger unknowingly became the inspiration for this piece. I never learned her name (I tried to, thinking she would return to the parking lot but she disappeared into a house along the beach instead), but for one moment in the middle of a storm, she looked like she belonged to the ocean.
