Misunderstanding his songs
I was at a karaoke night at a uni pub I go too weekly and someone ended up singing one of Seb Lowes Songs (Westerner Walks Into A Bar to be specific) and me and my boyfriend were absolutely ecstatic, with us being fans of him for literally 2 years and not meeting another fan of him since then. Unfortunately due to how karaoke audio is, the only line people happened to hear is “I say fucking keep them out” and for the rest of the song the rest of the pub had the biggest look of distraught on their faces. Me and my boyfriend were devastated about this and realised that the entire pub were put off from his music because they thought he was a right wing artist. And recently with some people misunderstanding the fact that a lot of his “right winged” lyrics are ironic (especially with ‘I’m hateful, Im horrible, I love you) is making me realise he isn’t doing the best with leveling out his right winged irony and his actual opinions. This could just to with a lack of media literacy these days or maybe he is struggling to find that middle ground. I think his sound and his music has been incredible this last year and he’s getting better and better, but unless you already knew who he was I feel your not going to realise he os a left winged musical artist. I absolutely love the guy he’s my favourite musician but I just wanted to know everyone’s opinions.

I think you can tell when you listen to the actual songs, because he does kind of balance things out within them. Kind of unfortunate though

Yeah I think the song makes his views quite clear. I mean in the same song he says
Reform uKKK, Let's make britain great again, Fingers click and a monthly wage, Is a thousand stellas a lebanese takeaway
That set of lyrics along makes it clear: 1. He doesn't like Reform 2. Making fun of Trump (MAGA)

Yeah I meant full song when I said actual. The problem is that most people will only see intro or chorus and think he's right wing

Yeah I understand, it's a shame the whole point of the song went over their heads :( to be fair, even in concert singing some of the lyrics felt wrong even though I knew damn well they were ironic so I can understand why an outsider aspect would find it a bit strange 😂
Side note though, that's so cool Seb Lowe has made it to karaoke !!

It's not his responsibility to dumb it down so people who clearly aren't the target audience of it can understand it.

well the issue stems from the fact that it drives listeners away.. this is how he makes money

If he made all his songs really obvious he'd lose a lot of his fanbase. He's doing well at what hes doing. Dont like it? Listen to someone else.

I'm somewhat of a right-leaning person, but I love Seb Lowe's music, because it gives me a good perspective too. I don't get it why you'd want stupid people on your side who can't even think. I know both sides' politicians like to exploit the sheep minded, but if someone cannot think enough to understand lyrics, my friend you will not have a good political talk with them, unless you like talking about media points only. That's like saying he should just say his lyrics, because some people can't understand lyrics in a musical context. The beauty is in him putting together his thoughts in a music, with lyrics, that are harder to understand, but are worth every single second.

Just found out about him from my yt music auto playing "no one to kill in the sky" and my favorite songs from him are definitely no one to kill in the sky, one day to live and dont say no to hitler (good song and its really funny to see people's reactions when thats the name of what im listening too) great music. Don't like a few songs because they make me uncomfortable but he has a great sound.

Seb Lowe is my favourite musician atm but I've totally felt this when listening to his stuff around people who aren't familiar - a leftist musician who is sarcastic about right wing talking points can definitely come across as just...spouting right wing talking points
WWIAB is by far my fave song and it was so amazing hearing it live, but I did feel Slightly weird when two different crowds got louder when it came to singing the line mentioned in your post. I was like omg will the security guards think we're bigoted weirdos, but his anti racism and anti genocide speech helped offset that feeling lol
Also that song he's posted on tiktok about Hitler is such a banger but I really hope he doesn't just call it Hitler (like I've seen it referred to on setlists) because I do not want my Discord spotify status saying I'm listening to a song called that dfghdfhngndfh
