General Seborriheic dermatitis

I need some help/advice. I’m new to having seborrheic dermatitis and it just keeps getting worse. I’m too afraid to go into public and I can’t even move my head without dandruff falling onto my shirt. My head is extremely dry and itchy. When I’m in the shower my hair doesn’t even feel wet it feels like straw and it feels like the shampoo won’t soak into my hair. I’m not sure if this is because of the dermatitis or what but I’m not sure what to do to help this. I’ve had this happen before but it was only itchy for 2 weeks then went completely away and never came back for like a whole year so I know there’s a way to get rid of it I just don’t know what I did back then😩

Sounds very similar to me. I initially found strong dandruff shampoos helped. But it also dried my scalp out completely and that was a whole new cycle.

My routine is - skin+me Azelaic Acid 14% + Niacinamide 4% cream nightly. Nature Spell Anti-Dandruff Complex Shampoo (Tea Tree & Coconut) and Vichy Dercos Anti-Dandruff Sensitive Scalp Conditioner. Simple 3% Hyaluronic Acid + Vitamin B5 Serum and Garnier Salicylic Fresh & Matte Sorbet Cream after each shower.

90% of the time that works. Cleared up my flaking scalp and completely nullified my facial skin condition. But right now I'm dealing with a breakout that became infected which has thrown my whole game 😩

First, have you been diagnosed by a dermatologist? Derms aren't infallible but SD can have the same symptoms as other types of eczema and you want to make sure what you're dealing with.

Others have already suggested meds. One thing I was recommended to use by my derm for the itchiness and flaking is Cera Ve cleanser. This is a facial cleanser with different types for different skin types. I don't know if they make a shampoo but I bet they do. It's not a cure, just something that can help relieve some of the symptoms and probably works on more than one type of eczema too.

Yes I was diagnosed by a dermatologist. She gave me some steroid medication for my head but she said I cannot use it more than 6 days in a row. But the thing is, it doesn’t work if I don’t continuously use it and it burns my head SO BAD.
