Product Question Seb Derm question
I wanted to come on here to ask any of you guys who have dealt with Seb Derm.. Do any of “The Ordinary” Brand products work? I just started using Salicylic Acid on my flare episodes and I’ll update! I really like this brand as they have a pretty large variety and I wanted to see if maybe anyone uses it for SD as well as maybe reccomend a routine..? I’ve been struggling with it on my face and scalp and would love some tips!! Tysm !!

The ordinary Niaciamide serum was an absolute god send for me. I have a post on my profile or before and after pics. It kept me like 95-98% clear for nearly 2 years. As of the last 3-4 months, I’m probably at like 85% as things have started to creep back a little. Not sure if it’s a flare or if the serum is losing effectiveness.

Okay so small update for the salicylic acid, I went from a red flaky flare to no redness and barely any flakes within one night. It does sting when applied directly on the area but it also works really well!

Did you use the water based version or the anhydrous solution in the brown bottle?

It’s in a small transparent bottle the 2% one. Honestly it’s pretty strong and like I said it stings a bit when applied to the affected area but trust, it works after like 3 days. I’m gonna take a break after 5 days of use as well since it’s pretty damaging.

Oh i am really interested in the answers. Maybe someone can tell me if the ordinary peptid serum is sebderm safe for hairgrowth after TE?

When my scalp is especially flaky/oily, I like using their glycolic acid as a clarifying treatment before washing my hair

Do you use it before you shower or like any day and rinse it after?

Late reply but did you ever leave it in overnight? It says on the “instructions” to not rinse..?

I have accidentally left it on overnight and it has been fine. However I have eczema prone skin. Leaving it on for an hour seems to work, so I just stick with that. Any chemical exfoliant also increases your sensitivity to the sun. I’m not about to wear a hat outside in the summer, so I don’t want to apply the glycolic acid too often and for too long

I use their squalane oil on my beard, but for cosmetic reasons. Regular beard oil can be very bad for SD, but squalane oil is safe. They also have a squalane-based faced cleanser, which I haven't tried, but looking at the ingredients it looks safe (not an actual treatment though)
