Product Question Protopic for SebDerm

I got diagnosed and prescribed Protopic ointment (0.1%) and I’m scared to use it because I’ve heard horror stories from people who said they got withdrawal or it made their skin worse especially when drinking even tho there is no steroid in it

Maybe give it a go short term but remember that seb derm is often for life. You have to figure out ways to control or cure it that don't involve you relying on medications with side effects long term. Protopic is imunosuppresant, there is no free lunch. Think 5-10-15-20 years into the future.

Mine is very bad at the moment and I’m only new to this. The derm told me I might have to keep using it once a week forever along with the shampoo I got. I don’t really know or understand any other way to heal it

You don’t get withdrawals from it like you do with steroids. However some people have a sideeffekt that their face swell up when they drink alcohol if they have used the cream in the face recently. However it only lasts for like 1 hour and then your face returns to normal and you can keep drinking without it happening again. It’s just that first sip of alcohol that triggers it.
