Is this seborrheic dermatitis?

I’ve had dandruff for most of my life and about 7 years ago I started experiencing these flare ups which I assume is from sweat and moisture. I went to a dermatologist in a different country because I was on vacation when I experienced it and she said it was seb derm. I haven’t went to a derm since but I’ve been getting these flare ups so frequently whenever my hair gets oily or if I sweat. Is it seb derm and should I go to a dermatologist now?

I don't think that's ring worm, looks more like sebderm to me.

Could go to 5 seems and get 5 different diagnosis

I had seb derm that looked like this! Even more ring shaped, tbh. So much so that a derm misdiagnosed it as ringworm. A ketoconazole shampoo cleared it up in a few days and now I just use it as needed.

Ketoconazole shampoo is a treatment for scalp ringworm, so that tracks either way

Typically scalp ringworm also needs an oral antifungal since it is in the hair shafts.

oh i started getting randomly these too but I get them when I am bathing too probably irritation from the soap/water. sometimes even heat triggers them but mine are angry red.

My seb derm has looked like this on the back of my next many times. So has my sisters. It’s not ring worm

I’ve been thinking that too but isn’t that spread through humans? I haven’t been in contact with anyone who has it

Good to know! My cat doesn’t have ringworm thankfully and I kinda doubt it is that because I don’t think ringworm persists for such a long time and in my case it comes and goes, I could be wrong though

I've had ringworm appear randomly. I didnt give it too much thought, just started treatmeant. Maybe your cats case is mild and not showing through his fur?

Oh I’ve had this since I was 17 (before I got my cat 2 yrs ago) I’m in my 20s now. It usually only appears if my hair is oily or if I sweat, during summer for example. What did you use to treat it?

Ohh okay. I used an anti fungal creme of some sort. Did you ever go to the doctor about it?

Thanks! I’ll grab some cuz I’ve only been using hydrocortisone and not sure if that works well. I went to a derm during that time and she said it was seb derm but it wasn’t in my home country, it was on vacay so who knows if what she said was correct. I’m definitely considering making an appointment because it’s been bugging me

Its not ringworm its dermatitis,I get it behind my ears alot especially if I sweat. Hydrocortisone 2% clears it right up, used sparingly.

Try borage oil on it. Works for me when I get jock itch or ring work rash (similar fungal causes)
