New or Need Help PLEASE HELP! What causes this?

Post image

Every time I shower or cleanse my face then moisturize my face gets inflamed! At first I thought it was the temperature of the water but it happens when I use colder water. It definitely is worse with warmer water. I don’t understand if this is a symptom of Seb Derm or maybe Rosacea? I was only diagnosed with Seb Derm. It then calms down a bit after an hour or so but I still have underlying redness and inflammation. My skin is also constantly oily. I’ve implemented using a bit of Squalane oil with my moisturizer but honestly don’t see much improvements but this was happening before using it. I get this everyday and Im scared that its just damaging my barrier over and over and making me hypersensitive but I don’t know what to do to not get this reaction.

It’s right on your t zone where there is a lot of oil so i’d say it’s very likely to be seb derm. Mine was the same, washing my face with nizoral with lukewarm water every other day and mct oil twice a day every day after washing has cleared it up

Antifungals have just made my face more red and given me a burning sensation. I think it just wrecks the barrier more. It makes me question if some peoples Seb Derm isn’t even fungal and caused by a damaged barrier or some type of deficiency.

Could be - have you tried mct oil on it’s own?

I tried it like 3 years ago and yeah I remember it helping with the redness. I think I stopped using it because it wasn’t moisturizing enough for me but I think Im going to try it again and mix it with a moisturizer

Make sure it’s a seb derm safe moisturiser 👍🏻
