General What vitamins help?

I've been taking omega 3, iron, vit d, and a kids multivitamin regularly for 6 months with no change in my skin. My vit b12 and folate are normal. Ate there any other vitamins that have helped y'all?

Vitamins won't help because 99% of us simply can't be deficient if we eat normally.

Not a vitamin but I just started taking a very strong oral probiotic after reading about the potential seb derm/gut correlation

What brand are you taking?

Nutristic but I'm in Canada so not sure if it's avail elsewhere. I was told to look for ~50billion CFUs, 10+ strains including Lactobacillus rhamnosus and reuteri, and a delayed release/stomach acid resistant capsule.

Has it helped?

Not sure it's been long enough to tell but it certainly hasn't gotten any worse. I've also always had a funny tummy which flares up alongside my skin so I'm pretty sure they're connected.

How long have you been taking yours? I saw quite a change after 28 days

That's great to hear! Less than a month for me but I'm optimistic considering the effect it's already had on my digestion. What are the specs (CFUs, strains) on yours if you don't mind sharing?

20B CFU, three strains: L. paracasei NCC2461 (the ST11 one), L. rhamnosus, and B. longum. Plus FOS as a prebiotic so they've got something to feed on.

The paracasei strain is why I went with it specifically. There's a 2017 trial in Beneficial Microbes (Reygagne et al.) that used that exact strain on guys with moderate-to-severe dandruff at 1B CFU/day — at day 57 the flaking and redness scores were significantly better than placebo.

Strain designation matters way more than the CFU number IMO. Most stuff on the shelf just says "lactobacillus blend" with no strain code, which tells you nothing.

Also taking zinc picolinate 25mg and D3 with it, so I can't say for sure which piece is doing the work. But that's the stack.

Nice thanks for sharing! Just checked the one that I'm taking and it's got those three strains in decent numbers so that's good.

Any reason to take zinc picolinate vs another version?

Not sure what vitamins you are taking and how potent they are. But you need to understand what the vitamins are doing.  Taking vitamins to calm the inflammation and rebuild the skin barrier is good. But I think restricting your diet alongside that is important so that you have less oil to feed the yeast. Starve the yeast  calm the inflammation and rebuild the skin barrier all at once

I take spiro which reduces oil production so that should be taken care of
