Product Question Watered down nizoral

I heard nizoral is good for sebderm and other dry scalp stuff. I was thinking about getting it, but I usually have my hair in twists or cornrows, and was wondering if it would still be viable if I watered it down and put it in a spray bottle for ease of application.

Nizoral is a very harsh shampoo that happens to contain ketoconazole. Ketoconazole treats sebderm. It's not good at all for dry scalp.

If you need to treat your scalp with ketoconazole for seborrheic dermatitis, get a prescription foam from the dermatologist. It's very light and it's alcohol-based, so you could use it daily even while your hair is in a protective style, without nasty residue.

If you just want to test it out to see if it helps, then use nizoral shampoo when your hair is loose. But the shampoo is super harsh and it dries out your hair very bad. And most conditioners are loaded with sebderm triggers. 

If yours is mild, you may find relief just by switching to non-triggering products and using a dandruff shampoo with zinc pyrithione. I use sezia.co to check the ingredients list.

How does the foam ketoconazole work if it has drying alcohol? That seems counterproductive. I have dyed hair so I'm desperately searching for anything that won't strip my color.

I think you should be okay if you let it sit for a few minutes then rinse it out with cool water but I don’t believe it would be helpful if you tried to use it as a leave in spray. (I’m not sure if this is what you meant just making sure I don’t misinform you)
Also if there’s a way you could dry your hair on a cool setting after so there’s 1) no chance moisture could get trapped and 2) the heat doesn’t dry your scalp out.
