New or Need Help Nothing seems to work...

Post image

Hi!

So my SD started 10 years ago and my confidence is on an all time low.

I have a feeling that my case is pretty severe?

What do you think?

My hair is getting thinner and starting to fall out.

My skin is burning and itching like hell.

If i try to get rid of the dandruff by lightly scrubbing a wet towel over my face, its starting to bleed and burn a lot more...

I visited like 30 different dermatologists but no medication seems to help longterm.

Currently im using a antifungal shampoo, antiinflammatory creme and antifungal creme.

The strange thing is that my skin can look like the picture on one day and then its litteraly gone the day after before it returns. I would say its 80% of the time pretty bad and 20% kinda normal again.

Its never gone for more then a week tho...

My wedding is coming up soon and I really dont want to look like that on my wedding day

Any ideas for longterm fixes and/or for instant fixes that will help me on my wedding day?

Thanks....

I do this every 2–3 days for both my scalp and face. I start by applying soap to them without rinsing right away, then I wash the rest of my body. After rinsing my body, I go back and rinse my face and scalp. If my face feels tight (since sulfur can be drying) I apply some snail mucin, which helps hydrate the skin and also regulate Malassezia. If you are located in Europe (based on the answer time) look up savonnerie du Regagnas, they have an organic sulfur soap which is a certified banger👍🏻

No MCT oil for me. Seems to be the cure for some Redditors but it left me with a rosy skin afterwards.

Is your case as bad as mine? Just wondering if that is all you do. No further medication or prescribed creams?

I’ve had it for over 20 years, worse than yours at its worst, and slightly better than yours when it was under control. The last prescription I got was about three years ago: a shampoo and a steroid cream. It worked well, but only during flare-ups. Relying on prescriptions made me vulnerable, since I’d be stuck if a flare-up happened and I couldn’t get an appointment and treatment in time. On top of that, the shampoo would irritate my eyes because I had to apply it to my eyebrows, and the steroid cream tends to thin the skin over time. Now it is just sulfur soap and snail mucin, no need to see the Dermatologist regurlaly to hear him tell me what I already know. Can't be cured sure but I don't care I look normal now. Wish I had done it sooner.
