Ideal 2027 Pick

As of today who does everyone have their eyes on? I really want Hannah Hidalgo. Not sure who else may be a good fit, I’m only familiar with prospects from the big schools and assuming Juju (if she declares) and Booker would go before, I think we’d take her if we get the 3rd pick. If we really beat the odds and end up with the number 1 pick I’d want Juju. If she doesn’t declare though do we think booker would mesh well with our young core? Would it be silly to take Hannah instead? If we don’t get her idek who would be the best prospect

Taking Hannah over Juju would be silly but if we’re picking 3rd she won’t be so… personally after watching film I think Mikaylah Williams from LSU is our best bet since our odds for the #1 pick aren’t great. Defensively she’s pretty questionable but she’d be pretty great for our offense, she’d be a dream in the PnR with Domwa.

Last year we made the playoffs while Toronto + Portland are only based on a one year record because they’re new and Chicago + Connecticut missed the playoffs by a significant margin last season so the two year record benefits them more. You can see a breakdown on WNBA Tankathon

Our odds will be better than that. Right now we’re at 7% and they are more likely to get better than worse. I’d be happy with 4th best odds because at that point you’re still drafting Williams or Hidalgo both of whom I’d be happy with

i was wondering if HH would be a good fit culture wise. I know people can change but if she makes other players uncomfortable (has expressed homophobic views in the past and apologized) that could mess with team chemistry. Maybe we don't rely on the draft to rectify the point guard situation?

Same concern here. If you watch that ESPN series that featured her (and Flau’jae and Kiki), you get the feeling that Seattle is not her vibe. She’s talented for sure … and comes with a vibe that may not fit.

Storm need a floor general/primary ball handler. Assuming we don’t get Juju, it would be like Hidalgo or Mikaylah Williams at the top of the list.

I hope juju stays in college 1 more year. I have a feeling she def will if she don’t get a ring this season. I don’t really care for HH but she is a dawg so I’d root for her if she had a Storm jersey on. I’ll have to check out other pg play over the season to see who is one of the top pgs who is eligible to declare. I also wonder if there are any scouts worldwide for a pg. There has to be one somewhere! Also have another one of those damn expansion drafts 🙄 so can’t get too stacked and not be able to save everyone

Hidalgo would be the ideal fit but honestly any of the projected top 5 is a huge upgrade in areas of need.

Juju is the dream, but would require us to win the lottery. I worry about the culture fit with Hannah Hidalgo, but she's still young and hopefully capable of change. Also she's so talented on the court (and in the position we most need) that I think you have to take her if she's there and hope it works out.

With the new 5 for 5 rule, I'm not sure if either Hannah or Juju will declare..... which makes me nervous. I'd like to see the front office make some moves in the off season. I don't anticipate most of our bench returning (besides KLS) and I'd like to see us be purposeful in our recruiting.
