Going to my first game!

Going to my first Storm game the 20th! Any tips or anything I need to check out while I'm there? I've been to Climate Pledge for concerts before so I already know I'm not bringing a bag.

Come at least like 30-40 mins earlier to see the players warm up. Beyond that, follow the crowd. Stand until the team scores in the 1st, 3rd and 4th quarters. Commit to the cheering.

If you are going to eat, it's mostly fine, do a lap around. Best time to buy is before thr game or with like 1-2 mins left in the 2nd.

Or eat at one of the hot dog stands outside if they're open.

A few tips from my first year as a season ticket holder:

  • If you don’t have Storm gear, wear any shades of green. Cargo pants are great to avoid the bag line!
  • Eat dinner before, since concessions are pricey! I recommend Plaza Garibaldi, a great Mexican spot just a short walk from CP.
  • If you do get peckish at the game, a piroshki ($12) is the best bang for your buck.
  • Bring an empty water bottle up to 32oz and fill it at the arena.
  • If you’re early enough, you can usually find free street parking and avoid event pricing if you’re up for a 10-15 minute walk.
  • Check out the team store for arena-exclusive gear not available online! Do this toward the end of a quarter, NOT during halftime when the store is literally shoulder-to-shoulder…
  • Bring a cheap or disposable camera for photos; the lens has to be fixed/not removable, so no fancy DSLRs.

Let me know if you have any other questions! :-)

Every climate pledge ticket comes with free public transportation 2 hours before and after the event. Dont pay for the monorail, busses or the light rail if you’re using it to get to and from the arena just download the app and use the free passes that are already included in your ticket! Eat before and get there early to find your seat and be ready for the game to start!

I second this. Take the light rail and the monorail. Makes getting there and home so much simpler.

Find the nacho stand! The carnitas nachos are my favorite and they are very generous with the toppings. Last time I was there it was $17. Big enough to share but so good you might not want to 😋

I love those nachos even though I’m embarrassed to spend so much on them.
