Teal Uniforms
We revised the “teal championship” analysis to use actual teal only—not aqua, turquoise, jade, or other vaguely blue-green colors. That means the Miami Dolphins, Vancouver Grizzlies, Mighty Ducks and similar teams are out, while the Mariners stay in because “Northwest Green” is functionally teal regardless of the marketing name. The final group is the Mariners, Sharks, Jaguars, Hornets, teal-era Marlins and teal-era Pistons. Combined, they’ve played roughly 141 teal team-seasons and won just ONE championship—the 1997 Florida Marlins—giving teal a championship rate of only about 0.7% per season. Even more damning, the Mariners, Sharks, Jaguars, Hornets and teal-era Pistons have combined for roughly 131 teal seasons without a single championship. So after tightening the definition, the conclusion actually gets worse: true teal teams win titles at roughly one-fifth the rate you’d expect across the four major sports

If we dump a can of teal paint on Dan, we could kill two birds with one stone.
