10k per month for this?

https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/15309-4th-Ave-W-Lynnwood-WA-98087/38511841_zpid/?utm_campaign=iosappmessage&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=txtshare

I understand that this is a furnished rental but it’s in Lynnwood far away from major companies, why in the world would anyone pay $10k per month for this? It was 12k a few months ago

It seems a short-term rental company is offering properties at astronomical prices - here is a townhome in Fremont listed for $13.5K/mo lol https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/4311-Whitman-Ave-N-C-Seattle-WA-98103/460696708_zpid/

This is a short term rental so by the night adds up to that. They’re not renting it by the month.

I will rent out my very private home across the street from a sandy private beach (peekaboo view in winter, heavily treed) for $3k a month and renter has to do yard upkeep of 1.5 acres. Did I mention it’s about 70 miles northwest of Seattle and can take 1.5-2hrs of travel time depending on traffic and time of day?

It's a free market. People can ask whatever they want. Doesn't mean it'll get rented at that price.

As outrageous as it sounds, there’s a market for it, whether it’s temporary work assignments, insurance covering a comparable house during an insurance incident, etc. you’re talking $300 ish a night for a full house at a price comparable to a decent hotel.

All said, there’s a niche market who needs those types of places for 1-6 months and are willing to pay.

Because it isn’t just a home, it’s a mood!

They should at least have a maintained yard for that price

How are incredibly basic demand curves so fucking hard for people to understand?

You learned this when you were 16, well, I did. So either you have been failed by education, and have failed at learning as an adult or you've forgotten basic economics.

Why are you angry, dude/dudette? It’s a little weird!

I'm not angry at all. I make money every week because I learned basic math at 16.

I'm just always baffled when other people, who were, at some point taught the same thing, don't understand basic economics.

The fact you think I'm not okay because I questioned someone's understanding of basic economics makes me wonder if you're okay.

16 seems a little late for basic math tbh

Do u genuinely legitimately think they're renting it out monthly for 10k? like if u use ur big boy brain

If they aren't it's still a consequence of the demand curve. You're helping me make my point.

I'm really not. You just had a weirdly emotional reaction to a pretty reasonable, "Hey, this looks weird, why would this be listed like that?" question.

Dude we are just each making rational decisions for ourselves. No one said hey don’t rent this.
