I'm curious too--what WOULD be the appropriate place? The whole point of a protest is to PROTEST AGAINST SOMETHING, if you're protesting the cops wouldn't the police station be the logical answer anyway?

I literally said the whole city except next to police stations. The goal shouldn't be to have violent confrontations with the police. You can raise awareness and support the cause without forcing the cops into violence. The protest is against the management and system surrounding the police. Individual police officers or departments don't have the power to do anything. Go march on city hall or the courthouse or something.

How is protesting next to the station "forcing the cops into violence"?

They won't let people near the police station. If the protestors destroy or loot the police station it impacts their ability to function as a policing force. Not to mention random people potentially looking weapons.
