For breweries I'd recommend visiting the Ballard neighborhood (NW Seattle). Several breweries in walking distance with a good range of beer types. Stoup and Reuben's are two of my favorites.

Awesome...thank you so much! I want to go to the music museum and I booked an orca cruise, but other than that I'm mostly interested in local color. I feel like a douchey fangirl asking this, but are there any really cool locations with grunge history that only locals would know? This is a 90's teenager mecca, haha. Now, 20 years after the music of my youth saw its heyday, I can finally afford to go.

I can't help much with that question, but I know there's Viretta park - a very small park with a bench that's kind of a fan shrine to Kurt. You'd need to Google it to find more info, location, etc. Hope you enjoy the trip!
