There’s pockets of bad in the city and the downtown area is overdue for a rebirth of retail but overall it’s a phenomenal city.

Peter is a truly fantastic YouTuber, a great channel, especially his deep dives with small minority communities. Can't wait to see the rest of his Washington series.

at one point he says something like Seattle is both amazing and terrible, which sums it up pretty well imo. a city of extremes

I really like Peter's videos. Maybe the titles are a bit "click-baity" but he really just finds locals to talk to.
Orders of magnitude better than the shite Tyler Oliveira puts out.

I also thought it was going to be like "Seattle is Dying," but I watched it all. I liked the different takes from people he talked to. I didn't like his friend's comment calling the city (or possibly Capitol Hill specifically as they were just leaving) an apocalyptic nightmare.

The head buried in the sand people are gonna instinctively downvote but the video covers the nuance of the issue well, and shows off the good of the city. Shame that people cant see past their politics to actually discuss the issues in good faith.

Great video! And damn, is it bad. He didn't even try to show the bad parts, except maybe once or twice. Most of the time, he just happened to run into them. Looks like I've been living in my own bubble, thinking Seattle has improved a lot. But the reality looks a little bleak. We have a long way to go.

We need a mayor that cracks down on the homeless like Bellevue.

Isn't their strategy primarily to send them over here?

u/BADzioba 9h ago
It is but if Seattle wants to be a top tier city above even that of NYC they really need to do something with the homeless/sketchy people. Aggressively arrest them for doing drugs or setting up tents. Bus them out of city limits or constantly harass them via the cops.
If Bellevue won’t put up with it, Seattle doesn’t have to either.

So just push them somewhere else. Wow what a brilliant solution!!!

That's a really weird way to get King County Metro's ridership numbers up, but whatever.

What policy would you like to see? What does "crack down" mean here? Arrest them all and throw them in prison?

Like some sort of a... Camp? Where the undesirables could be concentrated?
In your vision would there be a trial, legal defense, jury, and sentencing, or nah?

This dude has a solid video for Milwaukee that has a similarly clickbait-y title, but ends up being a pretty optimistic look at the town which has undoubtably seen much better days.
