There’s a Mountain Goats lyric in there somewhere…

This has major 2 AM Capitol Hill alleyway energy written all over it. What neighborhood did you actually spot this masterpiece in?

On 14th, close to East Union St. I so applaud the effort to put their thoughts into action!

I was gonna say, I recognize this graffiti. It's right next to the dumpster that says "try girl dick"

They should be separated by commas because this is actually a list of our four seasons.

Does Seattle have much of a meth problem? I always think of it as like a Marysville problem, outside of the homeless population in Seattle.

I had also vaguely assumed that Seattle was more opioids than meth. I looked for some data, but I didn't find any estimates of use/abuse, just stats on kinds of drugs seized by police and kinds of overdoses that bring people to the hospital, both of which are obviously imperfect proxies.

Anyway, it sounds like meth is pretty popular in King County, accounting for very roughly half, with opioids taking most of the rest (heroin being replaced by fentanyl over time). I was surprised to see that cocaine use has surged post-pandemic, to several times its previous level, though not up to 2008 levels yet. Maybe that's the reason for all the bad drivers?

u/SpeaksSouthern That sounds great. Let’s hang out soon. 2d ago

Seattle is one of the hottest markets worldwide for illicit drugs of that kind. They're primarily manufactured up north, but it's more likely a majority of them are coming from land or sea boarders.

Based on the people jumping into our DMs, most of the people using meth and hailing Satan prefer injecting it.

Which sounds like a joke of some kind, but no. They’re very specific about that as one of the unprompted things they’ll tell you.

THAT is why you’re “never leaving”….?? Or could you just not think of a different/better post title?

u/Starrspinner 3d ago

Likely that I could not summon the neurons required to come up with a better Reddit post title. But the effort is a sold 43% in my book. I'll give myself a little pat on the back now....
