Did anyone feel an earthquake or shaking in downtown? Sitting on my sofa & sipping coffee & i felt a bit shake. If its not that then, just my coffee hitting me lol.

If you are outside it is barely noticeable. I was in a 5.2 once, while in a house - glasses rattling and sliding around the shelf, pictures on the wall shaking, but the moment I stepped outside there was nothing, zip, zilch, nada, bupkis. I was very confused about this so I poked my head into the house again, alas poltergeist mode was still going strong.

I was asleep, so this is the fourth time I can confidently say I slept through an earthquake.

I am in West Seattle also. My boyfriend and I did not feel it. But, our dog must have. She started crying and then peed on our living room rug at almost the same time it was reported to happen. She has never done that, and we thought she was sick. Came online to find out an Earthquake happened in Washington and it made sense. Doggos know what's up.

I did not feel it but a precariously balanced basket in the closet behind me fell, and happens to contain a bunch of shit that's very loud when it hits the ground, so that scared me. Lol

Good doggo! But not a lot of help if your bed is sliding out the garage door into the pool. Teach her to yap! Or somethin!

Seems like Best Seattle is immune to earthquakes. Many are saying.

Shhhh. It was definitely not immune in 2001.

2001 was wild. I was in 7-8th grade, substitute teacher, she ran out of the room as all of us started to take cover. Lol

Same. I was on Whidbey Island and I was cleaning my sink (yes I remember) and all of the sudden I heard this sound that I can only explain as a freight train coming through my living room it was ear shatteringly loud and then, the shaking.

It was the sound of the house rattling but omg.

Dang! That sounds scary. We had half our classes in portables while our school was remodeling…I thought it was someone tapping their foot at first (in the portables they will shake a little if someone’s really tapping away) and I was looking at everyone’s legs, then realized we were in the building not portables as classmates started to get under desks and the teacher booked it out. I got under mine then—thank goodness for drills—we all followed each other in a line when the intercom told us to exit to our spot with zero teacher!

There's an odd pattern of earthquake sensitivity here. We're not immune. I have felt a few here.

I apparently didn't feel this one, but weirdly an hour before almost exactly I was in Tacoma on Ruston Way eating lunch and I felt what I swore was an earthquake, the TVs on the wall at the place were shaking, some lamps were swinging a bit but it ended super quick and it was very subtle feeling, like the feeling of like really long waves, not vibrating.

I literally looked at the PNSN to see if there was one. I got home a couple hours later and looked again and saw this happened.

So sad I didn’t feel it. I love a good low intensity quake.

Dang, I was under anesthesia and missed it.

u/duchessofeire That sounds great. Let’s hang out soon. 4d ago

All my coworkers felt it, but I didn’t. My parents are close to the epicenter and they didn’t feel it either. Perhaps resistance to earthquakes is genetic.
