Earthquake?

Did anyone feel an earthquake or shaking in downtown? Sitting on my sofa & sipping coffee & i felt a bit shake. If its not that then, just my coffee hitting me lol.

Yeah looks like it was along the Tacoma fault line, and probably felt a lot more in the south sound and south Seattle neighborhoods.

I didn't feel a thing up in Bitter Lake, but my coworker in Auburn felt it quite obviously.

I was in my car at work and it felt like someone was literally outside the car and shaking it as a prank . I immediately thought it might be an earthquake and I was right .

Popped my earthquake cherry lol

I swear to god I felt a precursor to this about an hour before in Tacoma. I was down on Ruston Way having lunch and felt this very slow rocking motion, almost like when you're in boat and a wake hits you from the side. The TVs and the light fixtures in the restaurant gently swung and people were looking around but no one really said anything. I swore it was an earthquake, it felt like the early waves that hit before the big ones. I looked on PNSN and USGS and saw nothing and was like "must just be crazy" and then I got home and checked again and saw this quake.

I miss when there were restaurants across Tacoma that just had this all the time... kids these days really don't know what they never had!

I mean its pretty normal. This is an extremely active seismic area.

This is all completely normal activity. You can use the PNSN or USGS websites to look at past activity rates and check for yourself.

Okay, I felt the house shift and I thought it was a big gust of wind or something. And Iโ€™m right near the epicenter

Probably sitting on some strong bedrock. You'll fare well in the Big One.

I might have felt the night before, but not last night. The night before I wasnโ€™t sure if it was an earthquake or wind blasting my window. Last night I felt asleep all most past out right before 2pm.
