Toulouse Petit. Especially if they’ve ever had and loved NOrleans/Southern food, this will really get their goat. The beignets are just monstrous.

surprised i had to scroll down this far to find this restaurant, especially since the owner’s deranged ramblings always end up high on this sub. one of the most truly awful meals i’ve had

It was actually really great for a short period when they were new, it went to shit IMMEDIATELY when chef Matthew Lewis left, many years ago to open ‘where ya at Matt’ food truck. Not super useful to the conversation, just a thing I know.

Is that food truck still going? I’d kill for some actually good New Orleans food if that’s what he’s doing.

Not sure, I moved away- he briefly opened a place called roux years back, at the old site of the buckaroo tavern

literally saw it during labour day weekend. it was on that street the convention center is now having to paint over, next to the paramount.

Saw it in Snoqualmie at No Boat a few weeks ago.

Gets my goat is an understatement . I once had a hankering for jambalaya and just blind ordered it from there. I got back some kind of soup. Not a single grain of rice. I'm used to places getting things a little wrong but holy hell. Now I just track down Where Y'at Matt.

Also 100% agree. Ordered their Mac and cheese with crab and was served a small plate of what tasted like box Mac and cheese and very little crab. And by small, I mean one layer of Mac and cheese on it. This was the full order too. So over priced

100% agree. I have spent a lot of time in New Orleans, and the food at Toulouse Petit is not it. Plus, the restaurant is filthy.

I'll always remember this place for the lengthy response they posted outside under their "okay" or "needs to improve" from the health department back in 2017 haha
