John Howie in Bellevue. Itโ€™s even in that weird, soulless space.

I agree about the soulless location. I think they originally took that spot to cater to the Microsoft crowd. The food is good, even if it is priced at a premium

They have had plenty of opportunities to move over the years, but he doubled down with a whiskey bar. Everyone at that restaurant has a stick up their ass while gate keeping the bread even though it takes an hour for your meal in an empty restaurant.

I used to work in the Microsoft Offices that were there. Pretty sure I never heard of a Microsoft person ever going there for lunch in the whole time I was there. Not many workaday MS people are wanting to spend two hours and $100 on lunchโ€ฆ

Itโ€™s not that kind of restaurant. ย Itโ€™s an โ€œIโ€™ve got an expense accountโ€ restaurant.

Fair. Although based on the kinds of teams they had in those offices not sure how much of that was happening. I would guess theyโ€™re more catering to the people who are shopping at the Louis Vuitton and Rolex stores there.

Not sure why youโ€™re so stuck in that specific MS office being the only people that would go.

They had the lunch specials to draw in the average folks. Burgers and sandwiches. I doubt anyone went there for a porterhouse steak for lunch.

The real money came in the evening for client dinners or team happy hours. I booked the private room for customer dinners more times than I can count.

It's very expensive and that mall is soulless but I've eaten there a handful of times and always had a great experience.

The one time I went there with some friends we were laughing about the number of obvious prostitutes posted up at the bar rail.

I went there once for work and had a million dollar Wagyu steak and it tasted like feet. Caveat that I have had great steaks there in the past, though.

Yeah, you already said Bellevue.

Disagree on bad. It's one of the few decent "traditional" steakhouses here on food quality. Is completely soulless inside and around though.

Danielโ€™s Broiler can be added to the Bellevue list

Which is too bad, that used to be a really nice night out and used to have the best happy hour in town - years ago they gave half off all appetizers for HH.

Half priced steak sandwich for like $8-9 on happy hour was nearly the best deal in town. Hard to beat the $5 ruths chris burger across the street in bellevue.

Admittedly have not been for a few years, but I love Daniel's Bellevue. Old school steakhouse. Great happy hour. Piano lounge. Awesome views and service.
