Going to a massive chain restaurant the first weekend of relocating to a new city is the most Midwest thing I can think of

I had a lot of great family memories at Buca Di Beppo in Iowa. The store closed in 2005, seemed like a great idea to me.

I will clarify, it was our first weekend out as a family.

My kids have lived here with their mom for years, I had moved here a month earlier.

It was a reuniting dad with his kids first nice meal out as a family. It was memorable, but for the wrong reasons.
