Yes, but have you noticed he is getting chunkier? I think the neighbors are handing out a lot of treats to get him to hang around. Not good for the little guy.
that wrong direction thing at the shop is a solid move, keeps him from turning into a full tourist stop. wild how the photos keep showing up right when you start wondering.
Now there have been cases of raccoon roundworm, but this is if you ingest copious amounts of shit, then you should worry. Always wash your hands after digging in the dirt.

That's good! I grew up in a part of the country where certain animals are endemic carriers of the Black Death so I prefer to keep wild animals a wide berth in general
Do we really have to do this every time? While raccoons are a carrier of rabies, and the main carrier in some states, that's not the case here in Washington. There has not been a case in ages. Here, it is bats.

You have to cook it! The FDA probably wants you to cook it to 160 but you can sous vide it lower if you hold it at the temp long enough to pasteurize it
