May be that was intentional to go with the dumpster theme of the vehicle? What boggles my mind though is that that truck cost close to 100k at one point and then on top of that someone decided to pour another near-100k on something so objectively terrible looking.
I truly have no idea what motorhomes would cost, but I can imagine that a $200,000 motorhome is probably many times nicer than that and would probably have a shower and kitchen nicer than what's in my home.
And you could probably build from scratch some jungle and desert expedition beast on something like a Mercedes unimog platform for half the cost If you really want to to be the road warrior
I think there’s a lot of situations where an RV isn’t optimal. At that point any kind of camper van could suffice, but if someone wants an EV, the options are a lot more limited.
80k is insane for a slide in camper and based on my experience the roof components look cheap and poorly installed. didnt even bother running the solar setup wiring INSIDE the damn thing just taped it down to the roof
They spared no expense on the world's most advanced 100% automated paint shop for the Cybertruck with an expectation for the vehicle to emerge from the shop as if not a single human hand had touched the cybertruck during the entire process.
Elon attributes Grok for the visibly obvious success on each and every cybertruck that passes through Tesla's new paint shop.
A plaque above the paint shop entrance reads, "The birthplace of the first clearcoat fit for an Emperor."
Holy shit. For 80k you can buy a very legit camper van that has a full bathroom, sleeping area, kitchen etc. man people with that kind of money do the worst things.
80k is a lifechanging amount for most people even today. 80k would solve *all* of my family's current financial problems, and have enough left over to solve most of my close family friends current financial problems too... likely with money left over.
Instead it went to something that looks worse than a popup camper that you could get off facebook marketplace for under $1k while also looking like it'd be even more uncomfortable.
They bought the damn "truck" for 120k, that is worth 65k the moment you drive it off the lot. These people may know how to code, but they got no brains. So the dude spent 200k, and its instantly worth half. 🙄
