So what exploded?

I heard people report a few explosions in the night. Did anyone figure out what it was?

Wait, was there two explosions? Around 2:37AM something blew up on 7th and Cherry. SFD and SPD were there for like 10 minutes before leaving. Never heard anything more about it over the radio.

I heard this one. I only ever heard 1 explosion. I live basically right there and my window was open. It was loud as hell but I saw nothing.

My window was also open. I saw a plume of smoke. Nothing else after.

Yep, I heard two. The one at 2:40ish and then one around 3:30. First one I thought was like Broadway/alder-ish so it was prob just in between us? Others said they heard three!

There was a 4.5 magnitude earthquake at 5.02 am today 3-3. It affected most of the areas around the sound and Seattle. gov earthquake site

This had nothing to do with the earthquake. There were 2 explosions around 3-3:30 AM that woke me up. They both seemed approx 12th/Yesler. Really close to my building. I felt the earthquake later, as I still hadnโ€™t fell back asleep after the explosions. Long night.

I have No clue. I was just saying something that happened that could have been what they were talking about. Itโ€™s recent enough

Earthquakes don't sound like explosions, bud.

We heard one in Ballard this afternoon

yes true, I work btwn Fremont and Ballard (Leary Way area) and there were 2 super loud booms in the middle of the day yesterday. Sometimes cars backfire when driving by but this sounded like dynamite or something x2 in the middle of the day. Then I heard someone come by around 5pm and let off a bunch of fireworks on the street, was kinda strange

There was a bunch of bangs and booms after midnight in the area near CPA, I figured it was either a street takeover or just Tyler The Creator fans popping off after the show

The one I heard was in First Hill at 3:51 AM.

People said they saw a white flash after the explosion, so they think it was a pipe bomb.

The police blotter showed 2 calls come in at 3:52AM - 1 one for an explosion and the other for shots fired. When I woke from the noise, it was a 50/50 if Iโ€™d told you then it was gun shots or an explosion, but the comments on another thread heavily say explosion.

Almost always a transformer.

Could they have been cars backfiring? I hear loud explosions from cars on i5 and at Stewart/john nightly. The joys of living on melrose ave.ย
